Guest Redhawk Posted April 13, 2004 Report Posted April 13, 2004 Which anchor does the catchphrase: "Jason Kidd *HERE* Kenyon Martin *THERE*"? This has been bugging me for for a while (I have no idea why), and everytime I hear it on ESPN I haven't been able to stick around long enough to put a name/face with the phrase. Plus, all those guys are starting to look the same to me. And has anyone seen the Dream Job winner since that first show he did?
Guest What_ever Posted April 13, 2004 Report Posted April 13, 2004 Steve Berthiaume, the former goalie.
Guest Redhawk Posted April 13, 2004 Report Posted April 13, 2004 Now, which one is he? **(This is the problem with everyone looking the same now; one of the reasons I wanted Zach to win Dream Job is because he didn't look like every other Sportscenter guy)**
Vern Gagne Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 A kick save and a beauty....A kick save and beauty Another Berthuime line. Who in Boston did he steal that from?

I saw him do ONE highlight the day after he won, but haven't seen him since.
Guest drdrainoscott Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 I could be wrong, but I think I heard he was gonna be doing ESPN News for a little while in order to prepare for Sportscenter. If that's true, I bet he's doing the late night or early morning shifts.
Guest Jimbo Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 A kick save and a beauty....A kick save and beauty Another Berthuime line. Who in Boston did he steal that from? That's his horrible Marv Albert impression, I think. He does that voice for other stuff to I believe. I despise Steve Berthiume. He is the bane of my Sportscenter-watching existence.
Vern Gagne Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 He also does that bad Tony Montna impression on his home run calls. Worse is ESPN seems to be pushing the guy.
Guest Smues Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 I think they said that Mike Hall (Dreamjob winner) was going to do like 2 months of training or something before they stick him on the air. I'm not quite sure, as they just seemd to make shit up as they went along on Dreamjobs and didn't explain anything in advance.

Wow, I didn't even know that was supposed to be Marv Albert. His impression sucks. And speaking of Dream Job, why was Al Jaffee always slamming the contestant's catchphrases, when the real Sportscenter anchors have some pretty corny ones themselves.
Vern Gagne Posted April 14, 2004 Report Posted April 14, 2004 Good question. Whenever I saw Jaffe or any judge criticize someone. I looked at Stu Scott or remembered any of the other hack anchors on ESPN.
Guest What_ever Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 I'm glad Stu Scott is hardly on anymore... he was the worst.
