Guest bcu1979 Posted April 20, 2002 Report Posted April 20, 2002 A couple of interesting notes from the latest Wrestling Observer. The WWF has told arenas running Monday night Smackdown shows in May that Hogan will be appearing on some of those shows. That seems to give away the ending of the Backlash main event but Meltzer said it could mean nothing with the WWF's lack of planning. Ross & Lawler will most likely call all the action on the PPV, which makes no sense. But then again, RAW has 6 matches on the show compared to 3 for Smackdown and that makes no sense either. Dawn Marie has a developmental deal and it didn't sound like she would be getting called up imminently. Apparently, she balked at the original offer since she couldn't afford the living/moving expenses so they doubled her offer. Val Venis has already dropped the Big Valbowski name. Meltzer also confirmed Ross's comments about the number of wrestlers who had their contracts adjusted being incorrect. Several wrestlers were told that 40 wrestlers were asked to take cuts but the real number is less than 15. The Raw rating this week peaked at the end of then never-ending interview segment with Flair, Austin and Taker. That did a 5.10 rating. The main event match of Austin/Bradshaw v. Taker/NWO only did a 4.85. Guess what the lowest segment of the night was? The Triple H interview which lost over 150,000 viewers and did a 4.48. Last week's Raw also had some interesting numbers. The rating peaked at 5.16 for the Taker/RVD match. The Austin/Hall main event only did a 4.93 and actually LOST viewers from the Mr. Perfect/Big Show match.

Guest FakeRazor Posted April 21, 2002 Report Posted April 21, 2002 It's obvious the ratings dropped when HHH uttered the words "Chris Jericho" I'm a perfect mark, hell, I'm the Mr. Perfect of this forum! That perfectplex ruled, kicking out of the one count? COME ON! Sure, Hennig was just signed to strip the XWF of its only name, but PLEASE! At least give him a two count. Thank god the Valbowski name was dropped. The WWF probably remembered that Valbowski is what he used to call his dick...
