NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2004 Ok, I have never seen the original Godzilla, bits and pieces of course, but never sat down, watched it, and analyzed it. So, can someone explain to me what exactly was cut out of it, in order for it to be shown over here? There has been talk that Godzilla was really a big commentary on the bad fallout of nuclear war/weapons, and it sort of had an anti-american sentiment, so when it was released over here, it was cut and edited just to make it a big monster movie. Is there any truth to that? Some say it was just the violence that was cut........anyone have any insight for me?
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted April 19, 2004 I think they just re-edited into a movie that would appeal more to the American Audience. They also added the stuff with Raymond Burr. I don't think it was anything like we now associate with movies being cut.
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted April 19, 2004 Raymond Burr was edited into the movie to give an American audience someone to identify with.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted April 19, 2004 It was also dubbed. I'm not sure what if any scenes were edited out, but if any were it was probably scenes with a more serious tone to them.
Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2004 Godzilla uncensored? Geez, sounds like he/she/it does a graphic monster sex scene with Mothra or something.
