Guest Your Olympic Hero Report post Posted April 24, 2004 Either a big spoiler or a big typo.... WWE is advertising a Batista & Shelton Benjamin vs. Shawn Michaels & Randy Orton match for their May 22nd house. This is either a big typo or a hint that a lot of turns are coming soon. It also could be a case of WWE just pairing odd partners. Credit: WrestlingObserver.com Michaels = heel turn, Batista = face turn? or Benjamin = heel turn, Orton = face turn? I'll go with the first one. God knows we need to see Batista in the main event picture as a face

Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted April 24, 2004 A heel turn for Michaels would make the most sense here - he's been a face for the last 19 months or so, and a turn would almost be required for him now - I'm getting sick of these mutual respect title feuds. A face turn for Batista would mean him leaving Evolution - and chasing the title. I can't see Benjamin turning so soon - and he's been a heel throughout his course on SmackDown!. And why would he be turned anyway? I thought that I saw traces of an Orton face turn at the start of his promo on Raw, but no, it was just giving credit where credit was due. There's really no need to turn him right now, either. If this match isn't a typo and isn't just for some House Show variety, then things will certainly get interesting, hopefully resulting in Raw continuing to elevate itself above the program that used to shit on it, which isn't exactly a good thing - having a great and a shitty program, I mean. I'm shocked that Meltzer would even acknowledge it as "news" since arena websites make these kind of mistakes ALL THE TIME. No turns. Big typo. Move on. humongous2002 0 Report post Posted April 25, 2004 HBK as a heel is great, Batista as a face is too soon because he hasn't develop any type of personalty, he is just a big guy that stands in the background while HHH,Flair and Orton babble.
Mearl267 0 Report post Posted April 25, 2004 It's a typo...or, just EB making an 'interesting' tag match. Something along those lines. About the turns though...I loved HBK as a heel (I despise him as a face, go figure). Benjamin is to early to turn, Orton is just now fitting into his heel role, and Batista is nothing without Evo. I'd go with an HBK heel turn (sorry Ric) next, if anything.
