JoeDirt Posted May 1, 2004 Report Posted May 1, 2004 So far Cena d. Akio. Usual stuff from Cena, quick match. Still to come: Bradshaw vs. Funaki! Jindrak vs. Moore! Rey vs. Noble!
JoeDirt Posted May 1, 2004 Author Report Posted May 1, 2004 No problemo. Here's Teddy to introduce Jindrak.
Downhome Posted May 1, 2004 Report Posted May 1, 2004 Oh yes, the Reflection of Perfection, lol. If Lex Luger shows up in WWE, he needs to be Mark Jindrak's mentor or something (instead of wrestling obviously).

But hopefully Lex never shows up ever again.
Downhome Posted May 1, 2004 Report Posted May 1, 2004 I wonder why they did away with Moore's "more" gimmick.
JoeDirt Posted May 1, 2004 Author Report Posted May 1, 2004 Shannon Moore with a new haircut. The excitement continues!!!
JoeDirt Posted May 1, 2004 Author Report Posted May 1, 2004 I wonder why they did away with Moore's "more" gimmick. He had a gimmick?
Guest El Picardo Posted May 1, 2004 Report Posted May 1, 2004 I think the question now is, how long until Edge loses his.
Downhome Posted May 1, 2004 Report Posted May 1, 2004 I wonder why they did away with Moore's "more" gimmick. He had a gimmick? Well, it wasn't much of one really. After Matt left SD Heyman kept putting Shannon in matches with all of the big guys, and he always came back for "more". The Torture Rack! They are just setting up Luger to come in with this guy.
JoeDirt Posted May 1, 2004 Author Report Posted May 1, 2004 Did Jindrak just rack Moore? My God, he really DOES want to be the next Luger!
Downhome Posted May 1, 2004 Report Posted May 1, 2004 My God, he really DOES want to be the next Luger! These young stars sure are setting their sights high!
JoeDirt Posted May 1, 2004 Author Report Posted May 1, 2004 Shannon Moore is about as low as you get on the jobber chain these days. I wonder who (if anyone) Jindrak will get to beat at Judgment Day.
JoeDirt Posted May 1, 2004 Author Report Posted May 1, 2004 Holy crap - they're actually having Bradshaw/Funaki as the main event??? Wow. This is how Velocity should be, though...just straight matches and interviews, no recap crap. Too bad there'll probably be a ton of recap stuff after this match.
Downhome Posted May 1, 2004 Report Posted May 1, 2004 And people said Funaki would never be a main eventer. Rey/Jamie should be solid.
Downhome Posted May 1, 2004 Report Posted May 1, 2004 Were the fans chanting Jamie-san or Jamie Sucks?
Guest Askewniverse Posted May 1, 2004 Report Posted May 1, 2004 Did Jindrak just rack Moore? My God, he really DOES want to be the next Luger! If we're lucky, Jindrak will turn face this summer. See, Rikishi will turn heel and start squashing lower midcarders. On July 4th (on top of the USS Intrepid), there will be a special Rikishi vs. America challenge where several SmackDown wrestlers will try to bodyslam Rikishi. Those superstars will fail and Rikishi will appear to have won. Then, Mark Jindrak will arrive via helicopter. He'll bodyslam Rikishi and turn into a patriotic face.

The funny thing is I actually watched the July 5, 1993 RAW earlier today and watched the highlights from the Stars and Stripes Challenge. I just hated how they never explained Luger's face turn suddenly from the Narcissist - not even to say that he realized he was being stupid and wanted to defend his country, or something like that.
Downhome Posted May 1, 2004 Report Posted May 1, 2004 I'm loving this match. How much time has it got so far?
JoeDirt Posted May 1, 2004 Author Report Posted May 1, 2004 These guys are working their asses off. Kind of sad they'll just be jobbers for JBL or something like that.
Guest El Picardo Posted May 1, 2004 Report Posted May 1, 2004 Good match, certainly one of the better set-ups into a 619.
JoeDirt Posted May 1, 2004 Author Report Posted May 1, 2004 Good match, certainly one of the better set-ups into a 619. And yet our main event? Bradshaw vs. Funaki.
Lord of The Curry Posted May 1, 2004 Report Posted May 1, 2004 That was a fuckin cool match. I didn't know Velocity was on at a new time and just happened to catch it by chance but I'm glad I did. Rey's armbar out of the tilt-a-whirl was fuckin beautiful. Noble is one of the most constantly underrated guys on the entire roster. My only actual problem with the match was the announcing. Demott put Noble's submission work over to the point where anybody would be scratching their head and saying "Well, why hasn't Rey tapped out yet?". ***1/2.
Guest Askewniverse Posted May 1, 2004 Report Posted May 1, 2004 Good match, certainly one of the better set-ups into a 619. And yet our main event? Bradshaw vs. Funaki. Well, they have to build up Bradshaw for that money-making main event at Judgment Day. Since Bradshaw hates foreigners, what could be better than to have him squash a little Chinese guy?

I believe he's Japanese.

JoeDirt Posted May 1, 2004 Author Report Posted May 1, 2004 I am shocked that this entire episode of Velocity will go by without an appearance from Orlando Jordan, The FBI, Hardcore Holly, or Billy Gunn.
