In the defense of the WWF, they tried getting TAKA over when he first came to the WWF. They made him seem like a big deal because of his signing, and he had pretty decent matches when he started appearing on television. I don't know why they think wrestling fans don't appreciate actual wrestling, but it seemed like it when they decided that TAKA had to be westernized by making him pull a shocking heel turn and join Kamikaze(?) and take part in ridiculous angles. The Hardy Boyz managed to get over without being good on the mic or being in any riveting dramas. They got over with Jeff's bumps and their tandem offense. There's no reason why they couldn't let TAKA and Funaki get over with their ringwork.

But the Hardy's had a decent look (HAD, like when they started out in The Brood, not green puke on a tank top).  TAKA, and many other wrestlers from Japan where aesthetics are not as important, don't have that.  To a casual fan, TAKA's faggy tights are more than enough to distract them from his ringwork.

The only good thing about this, other than TAKA hopefully going to a better fed, is that those sweet EVIL t-shirts are now $9.98!

What's wrong with not being in a J-Cup tournament? Was Misawa in a J-Cup event? What about the greatest wrestler ever, Lou Thesz (I'm not saying that just because he died sunday, either)? Lot's of great wrestlers have never been in a J-Crown event.

And TAKA is starting his own fed? Alright! Maybe they can call it Michinoku Pro!

(BTW, what's with capitalizing TAKA, neways?)

This has been talked about for a while now. I'm surprised he hadn't left already. This is a better move for him anyways. Sure I'll miss him in the WWF... wait no. I loved his matches but when was the last time he was seen on Raw or SD or even Heat? When was the last time he was used well? Ever?

The sad thing is that they were just startig to do somethign with the LHW belt...

I wonder if he is doing anything with old Kaientai...
