Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted April 22, 2002 Report Posted April 22, 2002 Usually I "watch" the PPV's in Scramble-Vision (local cable company's channel #99). Anyway, on Sunday I was watching Backlash when at about 8:10 it switched from the scrambled feed to the normal feed. It stayed like that until about 9:00, when it switched back to the scrambled feed. Then, at about 9:50, it switched back to the normal feed & stayed like that to the end of the PPV. But it gets better. For the replay at 11:00, it stayed w/ the normal feed for the entire show! Free PPV! Anybody else have this happen to them? I'm in a Philadelphia suburb, and it was just the normal local cable service (i.e. not Digital Cable).
Guest Jericholic82 Posted April 22, 2002 Report Posted April 22, 2002 I got the whole live show free. My ppv channel (98 here in Cali) was unscrambled for like the last few days. We have digital cable in our living room, but still the basic analog in the bedrooms. I also got to see the rock fanatic series and alot of movies:)
Guest Jericholic82 Posted April 22, 2002 Report Posted April 22, 2002 Actually this also happened to me in FEB. My local channel usually shows the first 10 mins free to get people to order it or something. So i came across the no way out replay which was unscrambled so I watched it, but it never shut off, so I got the whole show free. Man I wish I woulda known cuz I woulda taped it. I did get to tape Backlash though.
Guest papacita Posted April 22, 2002 Report Posted April 22, 2002 First off, I gotta say YEAH PHILLY!!!! 2nd, I got Directv plus I ordered the PPV to begin with so I can't say anything about Backlash. But back when I had cable something like this happened twice, once during a Bride of Chuckie and another time during the Crush/Doink match at Wrestlemania IX. It cut out though as soon as the 2nd Doink came out from underneath the ring
Guest Frankie Williams Posted April 23, 2002 Report Posted April 23, 2002 Ive had free PPV since 1996. Good times.
Guest caboose Posted April 23, 2002 Report Posted April 23, 2002 It's Ironic that here in England I ended up paying £14(I wasn't going to miss RVD and Eddie!) for the PPV when I usually get it free. While a few of you unlucky Yanks ($30 a PPV sux) got it for free.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Posted April 26, 2002 Report Posted April 26, 2002 I got Wrestlemania 2000 for free via webcast. That was my fresh man year in college and my friends would come to my room because I was the only one who had a computer at the time and there was no other way to watch the PPVs. We were sitting around wishing that we could see the PPV and we tried using the code we got when we ordered Royal Rumble and to our delight, it worked. After that PPV, the webcasts disappeared until recently. I can't order PPVs these days because we are getting cable for free at our apartment (I think they never turned it off when the last tenant moved out) so we wouldn't do anything to alert their attention to our free cable. Come to think of it, I don't think I would dish out 40 bucks for a PPV these days anyway. The last PPVs I ordered were Summerslam and the Invasion. After it became apparent that the Invasion was shot to hell (when Booker T beat the Rock at Summerslam), I couldn't enjoy what I had hoped would be a wrestling fan's dream.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Posted April 26, 2002 Report Posted April 26, 2002 I've had every single wwf, wcw, ecw PPV free since 1994. STEALING CABLE HAS ATTITUDE~!
