Detective Comics 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2004 I'm not really sure where this Kane/Matt Hardy feud is going, but does anyone else think that maybe Kane and Benoit will do double duty at Bad Blood? Perhaps Kane v Hardy and Benoit/Edge v Evolution or some other tag team for the titles, in addition to Kane v Benoit for the World Title? Along with the HBK/HHH HIAC, Women's title match, and the IC title bout between Shelton Benjamin and Randy Orton, I think they will announce a tag match in the upcoming weeks involving Christian, Tyson Tomko, and perhaps even Trish going up against Jericho and....? However, to make it more fair for Benoit (since a tag match would be more arduous than a singles match for Kane), bring back Jeff Hardy to make a Hardys/Kane handicap match. I'm going to bank that we just get Edge/Batisita straight up and Kane/Matt will get blown off within the next few weeks before the Benoit/Kane oversell. Jericho/Matt/Lita Vs X/Tomko/Trish seems likely but i thought the whole deal was BLOWN off. Matt/X seems like a logical branch. Leaving Jericho with NOTHING. Orton is busy with Benjamin... Johnny Nitro? They could set up something where Jericho annoys Bischoff and mocks his assclown assistant and set up a match for Bad Blood...I wouldn't object. Better then watching him try to carry Tomko. Guest Nanks Report post Posted May 19, 2004 Well apparently Matt isn't being worked much right now as he's just letting some back problems ease up. Hence the short-term diversion of Kane towards Benoit. I don't think Kane's really much of a threat to the belt. He's shown no real desire to re-capture the belt and has been far more focussed on this thing with Lita. As JHawk said in his recap, I think I'd expect Matt to have some kind of hand in Kane losing to Benoit at Bad Blood. Long term for Benoit I'd say he's got Orton waiting for him. My only tweak to your card is Jericho getting Batista and Christian getting Edge. No Johney Nitro and Garrison Cade will be the hired guy, since Rhyno is a face (well, he is a face on RAW anyways. Just a thought. I figured that this Matt Hardy/Kane thing would be blown off before the Battle Royale, but it doesn't look like it. I think that maybe heading into Bad Blood, there could be some form of alliance between Benoit and Hardy. It'd be great for Matt (and Benoit), and would best be done next week so that from then on, Bad Blood is the main focus for Kane and Benoit. As for the World Tag Team Championship, that's difficult. I would've expected Benoit and Edge to drop the Championship this week, because they just can't work both their current singles feuds and the tag team division. I'd say either a special implementation or, like Kane/Matt, something before Bad Blood. Which looks to me like Benoit's going to be a busy man. Bad Blood is bound to have one match that will seem like it will and will fucking suck. *I'm looking in Tyson Tomko's direction* I just hope that things are wrapped up nicely with the above guys so that noone has do to double-duty and the feuds are well built-for. Even though the more than year-long hype for their WrestleMania match (well, maybe not immediate hype, but you'd like to think that it was) may have been belittled by a non-hyped rematch the night after Backlash, the Steel Cage match from last week's was just such a damn neat blow-off. Kane has blown every title shot since 1998, and lost to Triple H multiple times - the same Triple H that Benoit beat (albeit not one on one) in two consecutive PPVs. The only thing I would change is put Cade in place of Rhyno. While I like Rhyno more, it gives Cade a chance to get some heat on him, and the Coach probably hates Eugene now.
