Guest Redhawk Report post Posted May 18, 2004 So after Torrie beat Dawn Marie at the PPV, she did the usual, "Ouch, my jaw hurts" thing that a lot of wrestlers do after winning or losing a "hard-fought" match. Now, I'm sure all of us have taken a shot to the jaw before, be it from playing pickup hoops, sandlot football, play-fighting, real fighting or whatever. And when you hurt your jaw, you probably do the same holding-your-jaw thing wrestlers do. But fast-forward maybe an hour, maybe a day later. Doesn't your jaw still hurt? Aren't you still doing the "open your mouth and move your jaw around" thing? How come wrestlers never do that? It's like they hurt their jaw during a match but it goes away as soon as they go to the back. Not saying they need to sell a sore jaw for a week, but half-an-hour wouldn't hurt. I don't know, that just always bugged me. Same goes for the taped-up ribs thing. Not the wrap-around ace bandage, but the actual square of tape. What the hell does having a square of tape on your ribs do?
Guest croweater Report post Posted May 18, 2004 I agree, everytime I've been hit in the jaw, even if it's pretty soft, it hurts for at least a couple of days. But I still no sell it like a man. It's not hard to no sell a saw jaw. But during the match, it would be nice to see wrestlers to react a little more to the humble punch.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2004 Back in ECW I remember Sabu taping up his jaw one time after he fell face 1st on a table or chair. But Sabu & Bill Alfonso seemed to think that tape was a cure-all for all injuries in the ring. Kid Kash once had his jaw wired shut and the announcers made a big deal about it during the match. Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Report post Posted May 18, 2004 Sabu used to wrap every injury he had up in tape...it was beautiful. Kinda like when he gashed his tricept during his barbwire match with Funk.

Guest Choken One Report post Posted May 18, 2004 Here we go...Someone had to bring up puro. Move on. Let's talk about the GOOD examples of acting. I'm talking about selling, cutting promos, storyline skits. Who in the company would you actually see being a legit actor? I believe Regal is the WWE's best actor...with TBS right behind him. Choken, I'm not being a smartass or nothing by bringing it up. I was actually making a point to what he was talking about. As far as selling goes, there is very little better than early 90's All Japan. I was saying nothing as far as cutting promos or storylines. Regal is a solid actor, I'd give you that but TSB is nothing special to me. He's alrigt at the comedy stuff but he sucks at doing the serious stuff.

Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Report post Posted May 18, 2004 Here we go...Someone had to bring up puro. Usually I'd agree, but in this case he is right. That is what a lot of All Japan's so called "psychology" is all about. It is a lot more realistic, and it is exactly what Redhawk was wanting to see in the WWE. So by all means, Dynamite was within his bounds to bring up Puro.
