Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted May 19, 2004 Report Posted May 19, 2004 It was a lot better than expected in my opinion. Both men put in effort, and made a real attempt to save the show. Of course, they couldn't do that since both men are still rather limited. But I think with some on here predicting it would totally expose the two gentlemen, they exceeded expectations and should be commended for it.
Guest nikowwf Posted May 20, 2004 Report Posted May 20, 2004 are you talking about the PPV, or did you go to Smackdown? niko
tbondrage99 Posted May 20, 2004 Report Posted May 20, 2004 I agree and you have to remember that both John Cena and Rene Dupree are still both very young and still have alot to learn in the business but they are putting forth the effort to learn so there only going to get better in time. I can easily see the both of these men as world champions one day.
PLAGIARISM! Posted May 20, 2004 Report Posted May 20, 2004 I found that match to be OK, miles better than anything Dupree has done to date and with only one horrendous blown spot (the clothesline over the top). I refused to watch the undertaker match, and so left afterward. I've seen much worse ppvs.
Dark Age Posted May 20, 2004 Report Posted May 20, 2004 I didn't care for it. It wasn't bad, and they did try but there didn't seem to be any real flow or story to the match. It only got decent once they started firing off the near falls. All the back work was just pointless and served only to waste time. You could tell that it wasn't going anywhere and was being used as a stop gap for the finishing sequence. Still, it wasn't really bad or anything. Cena's crossbody bump to the outside was cool, and the ending was neat, so it didn't really bother me. Both guys need a better moveset, however.
Toxxic Posted May 20, 2004 Report Posted May 20, 2004 You've gotta respect the DANCE~ in this match. It can come across as annoying sometimes, but mocking the 5 Knuckle Shuffle - Gold.

Lil' Bitch Posted May 21, 2004 Report Posted May 21, 2004 I feel that Cena and Dupree work well together in the ring for the level they are both at.
PLAGIARISM! Posted May 21, 2004 Report Posted May 21, 2004 Yes. It's a shame there's no decent heels on smackdown, (now Chavo is well and truly dead) cos with someone to carry him Cena would be HUGE, but Dupree certainly surprised me, that match is shocking on paper.
Guest NiTR0 Posted May 22, 2004 Report Posted May 22, 2004 Cena/Dupree on Sunday was average. The beginning was crap but the ending made up for it. Nothing to shout about. Although I did think they worked better than I had anticipated.
