US troops open fire on Iraq wedding

Recommended Posts

Guest MikeSC
It might not have been a wedding, but what the hell kind of enemy stronghold do you pull children's bodies out of?

What the hell kind of wedding celebration takes place at 3 in the morning? What the hell kind of wedding celebration has kids ANYWHERE NEAR automatic weapon fire? And, honestly, I don't buy that kids were there at all.

And, Superstring, ONE little caveat from your article:

Associated Press Television News says it cannot confirm the authenticity of the video of the celebrations, which purportedly relate to a wedding last week at the village of Makr al-Deeb, in desert near the Syrian border.

Sounds like the perfect setup for the movie "My Big Fat Crazy Iraqi Wedding"! :D

God I hate the middle east.

Come to the desert, where you can hurl rocks at people to settle disputes, cover up women from head to toe and discipline them if they do something outrageous like talking out of turn, and fire into the air to celebrate any major event. Oh, and if you kill someone in the name of your religion you get 75 virgins in Heaven. Brilliance! Let's all model our culture after theirs. Obviously our declining birth rate, lack of medical science, and disease running rampant indicates that we are wrong, and haven't been living the right way.

(Yeah, I know. "Not all Iraqis live that way." Let me rant in peace, dammitt.)
