My guess is Capcom because arch nemesis Konami is doing that Rumble Rose game now, and also they made Slammasters and that was neat!

I can't think of any company that could publish a wrestling game that would be any good...who makes the Mortal Kombat games? Did Williams go out of business/change their name/get bought out/merge? Because the only contenders I could see making a decent game would have already made one by now (Capcom, mostly, and they already made Saturday Night Slam Masters).

Midway is the driving force behind Mortal Kombat. If they made a wrestling game, I would expect it to be like NBA Jam and all their other sports titles

Eidos made a wrestling game, Buzz. They developed the Backyard Wrestling game. It's not too bad a game, really, but it's more of a fighting game with three wrestling moves (all of which, in true BYW fashion, are big finishers in WWE, mind you, but are transition moves in the game). It's also fucking impossible, because your opponents will always move faster than you, are always stronger than you, etc.

 

If Konami made it...that Konami code better give you a few specials/finishers...or maybe we'd get an engine similar to Fire Pro, where you can hit any move at any time, but depending on how long the match has gone in is what determines whether or not its effective.

 

...nah. We'll get some fourth-rate fighting game with blah graphics and shitty gameplay. But I like the idea, DK, of being able to crush Dutch with the TNA truck.
