Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted May 27, 2004 WWE RAW House Show Results From Dublin, Ireland (5/26/04) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Reported by Steve Fox on 05.26.2004 Thanks to "The Hammers" for the following report: Show started with "The Fink" coming to the ring to G'n'R’s “Welcome to the Jungle”. At the start of the event "The Fink" introduced Stephine McMahon. Yes, the Billion Dollar Princess was in the House in Dublin. He welcomes everyone to the show and announces the first match. Batista d. Matt Hardy Big pop for Hardy as he was the first one out. Competitive match with Batista getting the win with his Spinebuster! After the bell he hit two more just for good measure! Good Opener. Hurricane and Rosey d. La Resistance Very good tag match, with the heels isolating Hurricane for big parts of the match! Finish came when Rob Conway went for a cover on Rosey, but Eugene came down and started jockeying him! Regal pulled Eugene out of the ring, but Conway slapped Regal on the head which led to Conway being nailed with a left from Regal! Conway stumbled back straight into the Superhero's double-team swinging neckbreaker. Rhyno d. Garrison Cade Midway through the match Cade went down with an injury, the ref called for help and as they were helping Cade out of the ring, he hit Rhyno with a cheap shot, revealing he wasn't injured at all. Rhyno came back and won with a sweet Gore. Randy Orton d. Shelton Benjamin This one was for the IC title. It was very slow paced, a lot slower than I expected from these two. But it picked up towards the end, with the finish coming when Shelton went for a splash in the corner, Orton moved, Benjamin landed on the middle rope but Orton rolled him up wit feet on the ropes for the 1-2-3 Stacy Keibler then came out! She was about to do a strip tease when the RAW GM Eric Bischoff and Johnny Nitro made there way to the ring and sent her to the back! Bischoff’s first announcement was that the upcoming Jericho vs. Tomko match would be no DQ! At this point Eugene returned to the ring! He gave Nitro the Airplane Spin. Then he slingshotted Nitro straight into the midsection of Uncle Eric. Jericho d. Tomko, with Trish Ok match. Tomko is still WAY to green. Lots of slut chants for Trish. They didn't use the No DQ much. Finish came when Tomko went to hit Jericho with a chair. Jericho ducked a hit Tomko with the Enziguiri for the win. INTERMISSION "HBK" Shawn Michaels d. "The Game" Triple H Crowd was very much split for this one. Both men where way over wit the crowd. This was an excellent match, very Back and forth with both men blocking each other’s finishes on numerous occasions. HBK won with the Sweet Chin Music. If this anything to what we can expect at Badd Blood I can't wait. Edge d. Ric Flair Flair was massively over. Everything Flair did was cheered and every move done by Edge on Flair was booed! Finish came when Edge went for a sunset flip, pulled down Flair's trunks but Flair hit Edge, then climbed the to top ropes (with his ass still showing). He was flipped off and then speared for the win, much to the disappointment of the Dublin crowd! Lita vs Molly vs Victoria; No Contest Standard Women’s match. Victoria had the match won with the Widow's Peak on Molly. She got the 1-2 but Kane’s pyro went off and the women (except Lita) scattered. Lita was left helpless in the ring with Kane until Chris Benoit’s music came over the sound system, which led to: Chris Benoit d. Kane Solid match! Kane dominating for large parts wit power moves. Benoit locked in the Crossface twice but the big red machine countered both times. He then hit two diving head butts, which Kane sat up from. Then on the third attempt Kane tapped. After the match Benoit told Kane he had just joined the Very exclusive "You Tapped Out Club". "The Fink" Then thanked us all for coming! Great return to Dublin for the WWE ! It’s been 10 years since the last time they came and boy did they make up for it! There were no bad matches on the card! The event sold out in 6 minutes, which is a 10,000 person Crowd, and WWE really gave us our money’s worth Biggest Pop 1. HBK 2. HHH 3. Flair 4. Eugene Biggest Heat 1. Edge (During his match with Flair) 2. Orton 3. Batista
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted May 27, 2004 Well, every report seems to say Benoit/Kane is a very good match, although one or two posters keep saying no.
CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2004 See? Turn Edge heel! I found it funny that even after the injury angle Cade did, Rhyno still won. That doesn't happen very often. Heh.
Dark Age 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2004 I thought it was usually the other way around? Anyway, I'm going to the show tomorrow night, and I'm sure the card will be an almost exact replica of this one. Which is fine because I'm looking forward to H/Shawn, Kane/Benoit, Edge/Flair and Orton/Shelton. It could have been even better if Christian was okay to go with Jericho, but alas, I guess I'll have to settle for Tomko Is Tajiri still selling the injury from Batista the other week? You would think he'd at least be back on house shows by now. Still, the show tomorrow should be pretty decent. I'll post what goes down on here.
dubq 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2004 See? Turn Edge heel! Turn Edge heel? Because he got heel heat over Ric Flair in Dublin of all places? Hardly a good reason.
Guest Mr. Adam Report post Posted May 27, 2004 Hey the show was awesome. Just a few notes. Matt vs Batista was a really hot match. Crowd were eating Matt up with a spoon. Batista hit a second spinebuster after the match. The crowd started chanting "One More Time" so he did it again to a loud pop. Crowd serenaded Matt with "We Want Jeff" for whatever reason. Hurricane/Rosey vs La Res was simple but effective. Our section tried to start a Vive la France chant but it didn't catch on. Rhyno - Cade was pretty okay but a few ECW chants caught on. The pop for the Gore was awesome. Just like to point out that "Twoooooooooooooo" was very over with the crowd. Orton - Benjamin was quite the good match as well. They got about ten - twelve minutes and was well worth it. Orton looked like a star and Sheltpon was busting out some excellent reversals. Crowd was nuts for Jericho. His enzuigiri was excellent in person. HBK- HHH was really good. Evoking memories of their 12-29 match the crowd was going insane for both guys. At this point, there had been no Flair. There was the rest of Evolution so I thought that we weren't getting "The Man". His pop upon entering was mindblowing. Edge's initial pop died down once the match started and he got booed like a motherfucker. Lita's entrance provoked a sizeable pop. Then a lot of people decided to take a piss break. There were reams of people leaving until Kane's pyro probably made them go on the spot. The crowd was burned out for Benoit-Kane but still gave Benoit a hero's welcome. The pop for the finish was huge and the subsequent promo got a really good reception. Fucking best 50 quid I've ever spent I tells ya. *By the way, If any Irish people know when the Foley DVD is hitting Irish shops please say it in here. We had to wait about two months for the Flair DVD.*
CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2004 See? Turn Edge heel! Turn Edge heel? Because he got heel heat over Ric Flair in Dublin of all places? Hardly a good reason. I do want him to turn heel, but using this as a reason was just a joke. Though it would be funny if this made WWE think that Edge as a heel would be a good idea. Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted May 28, 2004 I find it funny that HHH is more popular than Benoit. The PPV match between them will be interesting.
