Guest Frank Jewett Report post Posted June 8, 2004 While the under- performing Smackdown seems to be attracting all the attention & criticism of online fan, the quality of its sister program Raw, also appears to have dropped in recent weeks. Raw's rating last week (3.2) is the lowest in recent memory & with the imminent departure of its two top stars, Shawn Michaels & Triple H (Shawn is taking time off to recover from injury, while the Game has a movie project planned) the slide looks set to continue well into the build for Summerslam. Here are my thoughts on the current state of the Raw program, its roster & possible steps required to arrest its slide. The most pressing problem facing Raw is the absence of fresh opponents for its main event stars. Michaels & Triple H have faced each other more times than I care to remember while Benoit-Kane smacks of a writing team out of ideas for either guy. Vince needs to get serious about elevating new main event talent. Young wrestlers such as Shelton Benjamin & Batista appear ready for a run at the top of the card & Vince could do worse then having both those two face off in the main event at the next Raw PPV. Randy Orton's series with Mick Foley was a step in the right direction, however a lot more could be done to share the 'Rub' around. Having Orton job clean to mid-carders such as Stevie Richards, Matt Hardy & Tajiri would amount to a de-facto victory over Foley for each of those wrestlers & help increase the number of potential headliners on the Raw roster. Eugene's association with The Rock must be kept in the forefront at all costs, despite The Rock's absence. The Rock's recent surprise appearance on Raw sparked a huge increase in the shows ratings & clearly any connection with the Rock will have a positive impact on Raw. Like Mick Foley before him, Eugene should look to cash in on the Rock's popularity, by lifting catchphrases, moves & even the Rock's trademark black trunks & raised eyebrow. I have a feeling a Rock-Eugene "This is your life" segment, similar to the rock'n'sock connection could do big business. By far the most underutilized member of Raw is Val Venis. Val has ignited recent episodes of HEAT with outstanding matches against Stevie Richards & Matt Hardy & his past work as both Commissioner Morely & 'adult film star' Venis, demonstrate his ability to get a character over with the fans. Raw writers would be wise to repackage Val with a new gimmick & place him in a Main Event feud with Benoit. Possible gimmicks could include an Al'Queda sympathizer or a Cyborg. Frank, Remembering when Smackdown was slightly better than Raw, before Raw became slightly better than Smackdown.

I just skimmed, but I hope that is a joke. That would shoot down any crediability Orton got moreso than helping those. He can't just go on a losing streak. Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2004 Well, normally I'd say Billy Gunn as all the signs point to him. Except for that whole "legend" thing. Nobody in their right mind would ever call Billy Gunn a legend at anything, except possibly sucking.

Haiku is based off syllabyls. 5-7-5, sometimes I think it can be different, but most common is 5-7-5.
