NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted July 27, 2004 So anyone find the breakdown of the differences between the 3 different versions yet? Well, the "European Version" is Dario Argento's recut, released theatrically in Europe under the title Zombi (inspiring, of course, Fulci's unofficial "sequel" Zombi 2 AKA Zombie, which streets tomorrow on two special edition DVDs in its own right). I haven't seen it so I can't give any specific differences, but according to the IMDb, it's "more action-oriented" with "less funny scenes". The "extended version" or whatever the hell they're calling it (disc 2) is probably the longer cut Romero submitted to Cannes, which Anchor Bay released on a single disc DVD a few years back, I think. And then there's those fucking German DVDs...it's so damned confusing. I just want Argento's version. I have the already released Zombie DVD(Zombi 2). However I am considering giving it away to my girlfriend's brother as a gift since he fell in love with it after seeing it for the first time a few weeks ago at a horror midnight showing. That way it will clear any excuses not to get the new release.
