Stop being a fan boy...Joe/Punk was straight up the better match by a good margain. More Drama, More Emotion, More intellgent Psychology, purpose, sense of urgency that no other match has ever approached before.  This match is the ONLY time you will ever hear a crowd chant "we want headlocks" because there was a reason for the headlocks.

You LOVED Joe-Punk, I think we all get it by now. You are not alone in that, as many who witnessed it have been saying it might be the best mtach in Roh history. I have no intention in arguing your opinion on it being the overall match of the year. But you're in a WWE match of the year thread, going on and on about Joe-Punk being match of the year, and you're calling someone a fan boy?? That's hypocritical. You are the one who was saying that Joe-Punk totally blew

Dragon-London out of the water, yet you have'nt even SEEN that match yet. Maybe it does, but don't you think you should actually, you know, watch a match before stating it can't touch a match you witnessed live, and have'nt seen since??

I do, and I bet I'm not alone in that. There's nothing wrong with being a fan boy for a match you love. But if you want to go labeling people fan boys, I think you need to start with the man in the mirror.

I'm really glad you had a blast at the Roh show, I can't wait until it comes out on DVD. I just recently got into Roh with the re-releases of Era of Honor begins and RRC, and have a trade in progress for both stages of Reborn that should be here by Monday. The show with Punk-Joe will probably be the first show I order directly from them, right when it comes out, I can't wait to see that match.

I have a self-admitted major bias towards BOTH Eddie - Lesnar and the Mania triple threat because of the title changes. I never thought either of my favorites would win the title, and they both did, shocking the hell outta me on each occasion.

You are a fan boy of the Joe-Punk match. You were there live, the crowd was totally on fire according to reports, and the match kicked all kinds of ass. That's great. I just thought it was a bit ironic that you were calling another a fan-boy when you as well as most of us are for, something.

I would KILL for an unclipped version of this.

Anyways, I'm going with Brock/Eddie. Y'know people complain a lot, but WWE PPV main events have been really good this year so far. I mean, the Rubmle, Eddie/Brock, Eddie/Angle, 3-Way, 3-Way Revisisted, Eddie/JBL (great Austin WWF '98 style brawl), and Kane/Benoit (definatley the lowest of the list, but still good).

I went for Eddie/Brock when I voted, I personally enjoyed it more than the WM 3-way. Overall this year, I'd go for the Hero/B-Boy match at IWA-MS Simply The Best 5 as my MOTY thus far, but I haven't seen a lot of the RoH stuff.

My picks would be Eddie-Lesnar and the triple threat @ Mania. I just don't think it's right for me to pick a favorite, because they are so different. I actually watched both matches again this week, just got done watched the Eddie match a few minutes ago. My god Eddie's post match celebration is one of the most awesome things I've ever withnessed as a wrestling fan. Knowing his story and how far he fell, then watching him just jump in the crowd filled with emotion as security kinda freaks out is too cool.

Benoit's win was very similar, because he is normally SO intense and bad ass, and you could tell that he was so emotionally spent by the time Earl handed him the belt. What made it was Eddie showing up, and them sharing that together. Both of these moments reminded me WHY I still watch, after a very shakey 2003. They both were major "I think there's soemthing in my eye, uh, both of them" moments for me. I really can't remember the last time I felt that way, maybe not since Bret won the title back at Mania 10.

I thought both matches were fucking awesome and loved every minute of both, but both matches ended up with my favorite wretler in the world winning the title after 15+ year of hard work and dedication. So, yeah, I probably love them more than the deserve, I probably rate them higher than maybe I should, but hey, I'm biased as hell and at least I know it.

I also really loved

Cactus v Foley

Eddie v Rey SD

both Michaels - Benoit RAW matches, especially the 2'nd

Angle v Eddie

Evo - Foley, Benoit, Michaels, and Benjamin Raw

This year already totally smokes the wasteland that was 2003

I'm going with Mania 20 3-way too. It delivered the goods on the biggest stage. The workrate was tremendous and it really got crowd emotinally involved. Plus Triple H doing the right thing and tapping for Benoit is truly a moment none of us will forget. MOTY so far!

London/Noble is definitely my WWE MOTY. These two accomplished more in 13 minutes (don't have exact time on me, so wildly guessing. I know it was 10+) than anybody else in the WWE has this year, and some guys have had 30+. Noble does a superb job of working over London when he is in control, and London's comebacks are perfectly timed. The ending sequence with the reversals is absolutely beautiful. ***3/4

Only other WWE match from this year that I would call ***+ would be Eddie/Brock from No Way Out at around ***1/2.

As for my real MOTY, I'd say Bryan Danielson vs Rocky Romero from Inoki Dojo 4/16 at **** to ****1/4. Other matches that I have really liked and would say are ***1/2-**** would be KENTA and Marafuji vs Misawa and Ogawa, AJ Styles vs CM Punk from ROH 2/14, and AJ Styles vs Matt Sydal from IWA:MS 4/10. I haven't seen anything from New Japan's BOTSJ tournament yet, so I am hoping to catch some gems from there.

That's true...good point...speaking of which...Any truth to the report that said it wasn't going to be called "Ultimate Endurance" despite what many figured it would be (with a 60 minute match and a match called that, fits with the title) but instead being WORLD TITLE CLASSIC.

Personaly, I hate it.

I don't usually get ROH tapes right away...how long does it usually take for them to get them out after a event?

Punk/Joe was 6.12.

like Late August?

Yeah, they did name the show World Title Classic (which I find really freaking stupid).

5/15 came out on 6/24, and ROH has been pretty decent at getting the videos out relatively quickly lately. I'd expect 6/12 out on, if not 7/17, then definitely the following doubleshot weekend.

Gabe said on the ROH forums that he was doing evrything possible to get the tape out REAL quick. I think he knows that the sales will be quite good for it seeing as how so many people are raving about the title match. I myself am really interested in seeing that match.

I can't wait to see this Joe/Punk match. If it isn't the uber-classic you're all pimping it as, you'll NEVER hear the end of it from me. :)
