Styles 0 Report post Posted June 19, 2004 (first of all, I'll apologize for posting this in 2 folders but I just realized that the technology folder is better suited for this question than tape trading and its more likely to be read too! So if a mod wants to delete the post in tape trading they can.) Probably an obvious question, but I want to make sure and figured I'd just ask here since I'm not finding much with google. I want to consolidate some tapes I have, most of which have been recorded in stereo; I want to maintain the stereo audio in the recording, the problem (or potential problem) is I have one stereo and one mono VCR to work with. Now, do I need both in and out VCRs to be stereo in order to preserve the audio or is it still possible even if one VCR is mono (and if so, please let me know whether the mono should be the out or in.) Hopefully that made sense. Please help! Thanks!
Guest I'm That Damn Zzzzz Report post Posted June 19, 2004 If one vcr is mono then mono is your end result. If you don't want to spend the $50 to buy a new stereo vcr, the best you can do is get a 2 input to 1 output RCA adaptor. This will mix the stereo channels into one mono channel but you'll keep all the sound, without it you'll lose one of the audio channels.
