I saw Explosion last night and at the bottom of the screen it said that there will be no more Explosion shows after June 30th. There goes all the fun jobber sqaushes!

It wouldn't make financial sense to continue it. Why spend tons of money on a syndicated show that few people watch when you're already spending a nice chunk of money on Impact?

I thought I had read somewhere (pwinsider I think) that they are stopping Xplosion except in a few key markets. 2 that they would keep are their slots on Sunshine Network and Empire Sports, which have huge penetrations.

Thought: Replace Xplosion with syndication of Impact in the same markets Xplosion aired. This adds extra time slots to see the show and will possibly reach certain markets w/o FSN.

I think the deal is just for FSN to air Impact, and FSN affiliates.

I think getting rid of Xplosion, save for a few key markets, is a great idea. Less money wasted when they're spending too much as-is (and have been since last year).

I remember reading that as well. It specifically mentioned keeping those clearances, and Comcast Sports South as well.

I mentioned that a few months ago during the debate on whether or not FSN would show replays of Impact. I still think that would be a great way to increase the visiblity of the show.

It doesn't matter if it's a good way to increase viewership --- it almost definitely violates the deal they have with FSN --- and it's simply MORE money spent without a ton of upside.

...BTW, please note that I got reamed out for mentioning that FSN wouldn't show replays...

How would they be violating their deal with FSN? Do we know that for a fact? I'm assuming, and I may very well be wrong, that if, as you say, they just have an infomercial deal, they could do whatever they want with it as long as they pay FSN to air it. People air infomercials on different stations all the time.

Yes, you did get unfairly criticizing for pointed that out.

We don't know fur certain --- but it makes sense to imagine FSN insists on original content for it. No channel wants to show the same infomercials you could see on, say, late-night local TV (not saying TNA is on late-night local TV --- we're discussing paid programming), so they almost definitely insist upon original content for the show.

This is true. I was just thinking that they wouldn't care much since they are making TNA pay to air it. I didn't think they were as particular about paid programming, but I could be wrong.
