The Buzz 0 Report post Posted June 24, 2004 Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it was due to nagging injuries.
Guest whitemilesdavis Report post Posted June 24, 2004 Taken from wrestleview.com: The Waylon Mercy character was played by Dan Spivey. He wrestled as Waylon Mercy in the mid 90's for a very short period of time and left due to injuries. Earlier in his career, Spivey was the tag team partner of Mean Mark Callous (Undertaker) and were known as the Skyscrapers in the NWA. Spivey and Sid carried the same tag team name in 1989. He was also one half of the WWF tag team "U.S. Express" with Mike Rotundo (IRS) where Dan was replacing Barry Windham. Dan also wrestled in the indys and Japan. He's been retired for a long time. cawthon777 0 Report post Posted June 24, 2004 It might be true but, from personal experience, I wouldn't put 100% faith into what the Wrestleview FAQ says.
nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted June 24, 2004 Wasn't Spivey also part of a tag-team with Scott Hall early in their careers? I want to say that they called themselves Starship Eagle & Starship Coyote, but I might be making that up.

Yeah, I wouldn't on something that matters. I just happened to know that, and copying and pasting is easier than typing.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted June 24, 2004 I haven't heard of him or seen him wrestle since his Waylon Mercy days, so I pretty much would say he's been done for quite a while. Remember, he use to play in the NFL (or so good ol' JR use to say) so thats probably early injuries that caught up to him.
Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted June 24, 2004 the WWF officials got a closer look at Waylon and blinked.. Wait is that the Golden Boy Dan Spivey?? Didn't we fire him... We fire him again!
