Lord of The Curry Posted June 28, 2004 Report Posted June 28, 2004 We'll make a mental note to try and work harder next time, champ.
Guest news_gimmick Posted June 28, 2004 Report Posted June 28, 2004 Well I would sure hope so, seeing as that I'm part of your audience. If your goal was to inform and to entertain, you failed on both accounts. Produce something worth reading next time.
RavishingRickRudo Posted June 28, 2004 Author Report Posted June 28, 2004 Our goal wasn't to "inform" or "entertain", if you entertained - that's great - if you weren't, fine. Some people liked it, some people didn't. Of those who voiced their concerns, I'd say it was 50/50. Of those that didn't, 100% could have hated it and that's their right, but they kept it to themselves because they didn't feel the need to share their opinion on the post. There is no responsibility on us to inform or entertain, we do not write for the site so there is no obligation whatsoever. We do, however, -as posters on a discussion board- have an obligation to _discuss_ and foster dicussion on WWE topics. There were _plenty_ of things to grab ahold of in our post and in that article that were up for discussion - yet you, and others, felt no obligation whatsoever to participate in that discussion, but rather, impart your opinion on the post rather than the topic. Why? I have no idea.
Guest news_gimmick Posted June 28, 2004 Report Posted June 28, 2004 Well that is great and all, the only problem I saw is that the topic was about GARRISON CADE. Wow, thats a real great topic on WWE. Such a lively discussion, making such great jokes about a green rookie. I have no problem with it otherwise. It just seemed so meaningless. You guys can do better.
RavishingRickRudo Posted June 28, 2004 Author Report Posted June 28, 2004 We know it was meaningless. That's part of the reason why we picked it. WWE.com has such potential, yet they waste it on pointless articles and bashing the internet. The WWE has so much potential, but instead of giving someone like Cade an actual character, they make him incredibly bland and leave it up to us to impart one on him. Every single day, every hour, every minute, they have a chance to turn it all around. They choose not to. WM XX was where it was supposed to "all begin again", and nothing really happened. WWE.com had an overhaul where they visually changed and gave wrestlers some commentaries, but nothing really happened. This could have been the discussion of this thread, because it was featured in our post, it wasn't.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted June 28, 2004 Report Posted June 28, 2004 RUDO: You know too much for your own damn good. n an effort to prevent another case of ending the push of a wrestler believed to have tons of potential, WWE has new plans for Garrison Cade. Cade, currently a RAW wrestler, will portray a character that imitates Shawn Michaels. Set to be called "H.B. Cade," the new character will get wrestling gear similar to that of HBK. RavishingRickRudo Posted June 28, 2004 Author Report Posted June 28, 2004 At first I thought you were joking, but... http://www.1wrestling.com/news/newsline.asp?news=18837 So.. 1. 1wrestling reads this site (clearly) and took the information and has decided to -in their high-regard for credibility- post it. or 2. WWE reads this site and decided to create a gimmick or 3. It's a complete coincidence. All I have to say is.. This is funnier than any joke.
Only The Strong Survive Posted June 28, 2004 Report Posted June 28, 2004 If they got the idea off of the posts from this thread, I'd have no choice but to mark out like a seven-year-old Hulkamaniac.
Art Sandusky Posted June 28, 2004 Report Posted June 28, 2004 They'd never admit it, even if they did. On the bright side, this gets Cade away from COACH~, who is quickly becoming my favorite person on Raw period, just for the little "The Playas Club Featuring: Coach" mini-tron video that pops up during his entrance.
Guest Mulatto Heat Posted June 28, 2004 Report Posted June 28, 2004 Nah, I think Coach would be involved with Cade somehow in the launch of this new gimmick. I'm not sure what the big problem was with the original post. In my book, it's better than just copying and pasting the article, which is almost nauseating in its tone. He's grateful and honored. Um, so? RRR's assessment was spot-on for the most part, despite incorrectly stating that Cade is a former tag team champion.
Art Sandusky Posted June 28, 2004 Report Posted June 28, 2004 Coach must not be involved with this. Actually, he should slap Cade like a bitch that didn't give Coach his money and go back to being a free-floating Bischoff lackey.
Guest Repo Man Reborn Posted June 28, 2004 Report Posted June 28, 2004 I hope Rudo posts a thread detailing how Triple H will start a new gimmick where he imitates Claude Raines.
Crimson G Posted June 28, 2004 Report Posted June 28, 2004 Coach will be playing the part of Marty Jannetty being thrown through a plate glass window. Credit: Dave Meltzer Just Kidding.
godthedog Posted June 28, 2004 Report Posted June 28, 2004 I hope Rudo posts a thread detailing how Triple H will start a new gimmick where he imitates Claude Raines. random official person: What nationality are you? Ric Flair: I'm a drunkard! Whooooooo! Triple H: (in Vichy uniform, effeminately puffing a cigarette) That makes Ric a citizen of the world!
Guest Repo Man Reborn Posted June 28, 2004 Report Posted June 28, 2004 Garrison Cade is to HBK as the Coach is to Carlton Banks. Why not just get Cade the orange shirt, green tights and fin gloves and be done with it? He's not your boy toy........
Guest TigerDriver91 Posted June 28, 2004 Report Posted June 28, 2004 Garrison Cade is to HBK as the Coach is to Carlton Banks. Only if Coach can do Carlton's dance... yeah that will draw huge in WWE.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 I have a hard time believing the H.B.Cade thing, but its a lot better than what I thought when I saw Test rubbing Cade's shoulders and slapping him on the ass not once, not twice but 3 times before the match on Sunday. I'll take a gimmick impersonation over another gay tag team any day of the week, although the last gimmick impersonation that I can remember, funny as it was for about 2 weeks, was really stupid (Kanyon impersonating DDP with the book and even the wig).
RavishingRickRudo Posted June 29, 2004 Author Report Posted June 29, 2004 How can you not trust 1wrestling.com? They were the ones who brought us "Bret Hart has signed with the WWE and will be on RAW" back in 2001. And Cade never held the tag titles? The fuck??
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted June 29, 2004 Report Posted June 29, 2004 If they do go with the HBK imitation angle for Cade, it'd be better if he failed miserably, like slipping up when dancing or botching the superkick. Then as this goes on for a while, HBK comes back not to avenge the brutality by Kane, but to avenge the idiocy of Cade.
