Nevermortal 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2004 Windows XP (I think it's the OS) doesn't let you sort/arrange files by date modified. This is amazingly annoying when you want to display your most recently downloaded MP3s when in winamp. Is this just Winamp's doing, or the OS? Because when I ran Winamp on 98, I could absolutely sort by date.
Guest macheteofodin Report post Posted June 28, 2004 There might be an easier way to sort by date in XP, but this is how I do it. Open any random folder. Right click a blank area. Go to View then choose "Details." Right click bar with info such as "Name," "Size," "File Type," etc... Choose Date Modified. Now you can either click that new item on the menu to sort by date modified or right click a blanks spot, go to Sort Items By, then Modified. To apply that to all folders: Go to Tools -> Folder Options (from menu bar). Click on the View Tab. Click the Apply to All Folders button. Click OK I don't think Winamp's inability to sort by Date has anything to do with Windows. It may have been changed with a version update. As in the function may have been dropped or the process involved to sort by date has been altered. I haven't used Winamp in a while, so I couldn't tell you how to do so in that program. IllustriousOne 0 Report post Posted June 28, 2004 ^ That method works. The defaults with how they sort MP3s is indeed kinda shitty, but machete's way works very well.
