Guest Contentious C Report post Posted July 6, 2004 The Liger comp is a waste of your money. Only one of those matches (vs. Delfin) would make a worthwhile Liger comp. The DK matches are likely full, but all of them are rather short.
Guest The Last Free Voice Report post Posted July 6, 2004 So would the dynamite comp be worth it? It has quite a few Tiger Mask matches, and I've never seen any of thiers. For anyone who cares I'm also thinking about getting the JCROWN tournement too.

Guest The Last Free Voice Report post Posted July 6, 2004 I have both JCup 94 and 95 and that's it. So I'm finally getting more now that I will have some money in a week or so. So Must own tapes are... Jcup 94 JCrown and...?

Guest Contentious C Report post Posted July 6, 2004 Don't bother with J*Crown, either. Just get Ultimo vs. Ohtani on a comp and you're just as well off. The rest of the show isn't that good. The Skydiving J is a better show from beginning to end, even if it has a couple of awful matches on it. Not that this board is really the place to be for good recommendations... Guest Black Tiger Report post Posted July 7, 2004 1993-1996 is the best years for All Japan, you can usually get anything from this period and have a good buy on your hands, especially the 1995 Champions Carnival, which had a ton of awesome matches. I'd also suggest picking up some Michinoku Pro circa 1996 and some BattlArts to see a few of the different styles and if anything in particular gets your eye. Guest The Last Free Voice Report post Posted July 7, 2004 I just took a look at the 95 CC and it looks HUGE. Lots of matches and lots of names I've seen talked about, but not really seen myself. My question is, will I be lost watching it? Like will the style really confuse me if I'm only used to US Stuff and the JCup tournements?
Guest Contentious C Report post Posted July 7, 2004 As long as you don't bitch about Taue's choke slams and you know the difference between tiger/dragon/German suplexes, probably not.
Guest stylz Report post Posted July 7, 2004 So what are some recommended Golden Boy comps? J

Guest momoracci Report post Posted July 7, 2004 There's the three comm tapes with the league matches, the comm tape of the Misawa/Taue final, and the TV special with the Kawada/Kobashi draw - all of which you can get from Lynch, in better VQ. That's what I'd recommend. Anthony

Guest The Last Free Voice Report post Posted July 7, 2004 See, I have the whole parent issue, as I don't have a credit card myself, I have to convince them to use whoever. I used GB before adn they trust them, so that'd be easiest. So the tape i posted ISN'T the whole thing?

Guest The Last Free Voice Report post Posted July 7, 2004 how much would that end up costing me? I'm on a severely limited budget...
Guest momoracci Report post Posted July 7, 2004 Lynch is through the mail only, by check or MO. His e-mail address is in the "Looking to get into..." pinned thread. And the tapes that Kido listed are all of the comm tapes available (Lynch has them all in EX quality) but there's also a 1 hour special of the awesome Kawada/Kobashi match from 4/13 that *isn't* on the comm tapes. Lynch charges $15 for 2 hrs 40 mins in SP, $20 for 6 hrs in SLP, and $25 for 8 hrs in SLP. I have all of that stuff and it's over 9 hours total. Anthony
Guest Contentious C Report post Posted July 7, 2004 So basically, you'd get 1 8-hr. tape with all the "league" comms, then a 2-hr. tape in SP with the 4/13 show and the finals.
Guest Jimbo Report post Posted July 7, 2004 Maybe it was just the one I choose, but the Michi Pro comp I got from GB's had some pretty good matches, but the vid quality was very, very poor. Stil worth the $10 I got it for though.

Special K 0 Report post Posted July 8, 2004 I ordered the Champions carny from Golden Boy, and he ended up putting it on 2 tapes, with the Final match (which you definitely want), so It was the cost of 2 normal tapes there. Vid quality may have been a little lower because of SLP/EP, but still looked fine. It's a complete steal.
Guest The Last Free Voice Report post Posted July 8, 2004 So was it the whole tourney or just clips of it?
Special K 0 Report post Posted July 8, 2004 Whole tourney, IIRC. As reviewed on rolling germans (just in case any matches are JIP or clipped that I don't remember) All the big matches you would want were completely unclipped I believe. Also the 60 minute 6-man was unclipped, which would suggest to me that it's completely unclipped. It's like 8 hours long.
