Guest Evolution Report post Posted July 8, 2004 It just so happens that I live about fifteen minutes from where this show is going to be held. In fact, I had dinner earlier with one of the two owners of No Limits Wrestling at a local restaurant. They're both great guys, and they've been a help in a few jams that ScW have gotten into. Anyway, I'm all over this one, as it will also feature a special dark match featuring two local guys from ScW. Oh, and Styles/Punk looks OK too.
Guest The Last Free Voice Report post Posted July 8, 2004 Looks like a great card. Any thoughts on who's going over?
Guest Evolution Report post Posted July 8, 2004 Looks like a great card. Any thoughts on who's going over? Well, I didn't get any hints from the owner If I had to guess, though: Styles over Punk Kage over Sydal (not sure, haven't seen Kage before) Either Ace Steel or Boz as NWA Iowa champion, I can see Steel/Boz as the final (funny stuff, the owner himself said he didn't know who was going over in the tournament yet ) And...I'd say Tracy over Daizee. Guest Evolution Report post Posted July 30, 2004 Well, I just set up the ring for this show with Mickie Knuckles while Ian Rotten looked on, and the place looks in great shape for a wrestling show. Anyone in the area is very much encouraged to go, as I hear from the promoters that this could be a IWA-MS-ish show in terms of length! The final card from the NWA: No Limits forums *****THE CARD***** NWA X-Division Champion and former 2-time NWA World Champion AJ Styles takes on CM Punk in a 30 Minute Iron Man Match ******************************************************************************** ***** 8 Man Tournament to crown the 1st Ever NWA: Iowa Champion First Round Matches "Sexy" Ace Steel vs. Danny Daniels "Spyder" Nate Webb vs. Brad Bradley Ryan Boz vs. Jimmy Jacobs "The Anarchist" Arik Cannon vs. Mark Wolf ******************************************************************************** ***** Also on the card: NWA-TNA Superstar Tracy Brooks takes on Daizee Haze Justin Kage defends the NWA: Midwest X Division Title against Matt Sydal Delirious vs. Ian Rotten As well as a battle royal with the winner getting a shot at Colt Cabana and the NWA: Illinois title on 8/20. Phoenix Fury Legdrop 0 Report post Posted July 30, 2004 If it wasn't a four-hour drive from my house, and my friends had the night off from work, I'd so be there.
Guest ian. Report post Posted July 30, 2004 I'm going to this show, seeing as I live literally 10 minutes away from it. This will be my first indy show seeing as indies hardly come here. I can't fucking wait for that 30 minute iron man match. And I'm also looking forward to the two new matches. Edit: Evo, how long do you think this show'll run? Guest Evolution Report post Posted July 30, 2004 Edit: Evo, how long do you think this show'll run? Well, it's an 11 show match from what we see on the card, and there might be an extra match or two slipped in there that would push it to three hours, certainly. Could be three and a half to four, depending on how long the matches are. I, too, live about 10 minutes away from the Masonic Temple, so I'm definitely going to be there. Guest Real F'n Show Report post Posted July 30, 2004 It's only 3 hours from where I live, but whatdayaknow, I gotta work tonight. Otherwise I'd definately be going for Punk/Styles.
Guest ian. Report post Posted July 31, 2004 Just got back from the show, fucking awesome. Only two bad matches in about a 4 hour running time, excluding intermissions. Aj didn't show, which pissed me off, but he's gonna be at the next one that comes here. They announced Chrisopher Daniels for their October 1rst show, taking on cm punk Oh, and Danny Daniels and Ryan Boz landed on me, and Webb hit a moonsault about 5 feet infront of me Ryan Boz beat Jimmy Jacobs Danny Daniels beat Ace Steel Nate Webb beat Brad Bradley Don't remember who won the womens match Ian Rotten beat Delirious Matt Sydal beat Justin Kage to become the new NWA Midwest X champ Ryan Boz beat Danny Daniels and Nate Webb to become the new NWA Iowa Champ Cm punk beat Cannon 2 falls to 1 in a 30 minute iron man match
Guest Evolution Report post Posted July 31, 2004 Yes, AJ did not show, but AJ and Punk has been confirmed for a 2/3 Falls, No Time Limit match on August 20th, and Punk and Daniels have been confirmed for the very next show in October. There was another match, Trik Davis and Mark Wolf versus The All-Stars, which the All-Stars won. I, too, forgot who won the women's match. It involved Daizee, Tracy, and Mickie and was mostly spotty but it was still quite impressive. They went...balls out...in this match and it showed. I want to say Daizee won, but I just completely forgot. Yes, it was a very good show. The crowd seemed burnt out by the time Cannon/Punk came along, but they picked it up towards the end. Cannon, by the way, won a ten-man-or-so battle royal to get the chance to face Punk. I don't think a lot of people took Cannon seriously, but Punk and him did a very fine match that was finished with a super-fast Pepsi Plunge to just make it before the three count could fall to give Punk the deciding fall. For those of you wondering, here were the falls, if I remember correctly, and I think I do: Punk beat Cannon with a torture rack after fucking with Cannon's back with a couple of backbreakers Cannon beat Punk by ducking a second Shining Wizard attempt and hitting a Glimmering Warlock of his own Punk beat Cannon with the Pepsi Plunge with only two seconds to spare Overall, it was just a great atmosphere--even though I was stuck behind the most annoying crowd member in the building. Guest ian. Report post Posted July 31, 2004 Which guy? There were some annoying people. Including the dude in the La Parka mask infront of me.
