Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted July 11, 2004 Report Posted July 11, 2004 I'm a pretty big Hogan mark, and I'd like to know what to expect from this DVD. Other than one Great Muta match in 93, I've never seen him work in Japan. Here's the LINK
Jingus Posted July 11, 2004 Report Posted July 11, 2004 Except for the Hansen and Muta matches, there's not a whole lot worth watching on there. Killer Khan ain't exactly a workrate machine, if you've seen one Hogan-Andre match you've seen 'em all, and Inoki never really clicked with Hogan in his matches (though if that match is the IWGP Title Tournament Finals, forgot the date, it is interesting to watch an early example of a worked shoot as Hogan "knocks out" Inoki to win the belt). The Hogan/Muta-Hellraisers match is crap, and I haven't seen the Chono match so I can't comment on that. However, the aforementioned Hansen and Muta matches are interesting just to show what Hogan could really do in the 90s when he wanted to actually work, as compared to his WWF stuff from around the same time.
Guest TigerDriver91 Posted July 12, 2004 Report Posted July 12, 2004 The Hansen and Muta matches are well worth viewing, imo, and the match with Chono is rather interesting too.
tekcop Posted July 12, 2004 Report Posted July 12, 2004 Hogan/Hansen is one of Hogan's best matches ever. I haven't seen anything else on there though.
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 Hulk Hogan vs. Stan Hansen (4/13/90) This is a glowing example of how Hogan COULD have been.
Guest RickyChosyu Posted July 13, 2004 Report Posted July 13, 2004 It's also a good example of how awesome Hansen was.
Guest Choken One Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 we didn't need a DVD to prove how great Hansen is.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 Does anyone know of some other Hogan in Japan DVDs that are worth my time? Keep in mind I don't own a VCR. Also, I've heard of a tag match where Hogan and someone faced Tenryu and someone else that began with Hogan kicking the boy holding the ring ropes open off the ramp, and featured him breaking pins with chairs. What is this match and where can I find it?
