If the rumors come out to be true....Ted Turner may start a new promotion....I prefer him to buy TNA though.......but anywayz....could WWE see new competition soon..???

Ted Turner RETURN

We all know that wCw was stolen from Ted Turner....when AOL merged with Time Warner....(in which AOL is no more now...renamed back to Time Warner)....the company sold wCw behind Ted Turner's back.....Turner was planning on leaving anyway...but the wCw sell was the final nail..

Ted Turner vs. Vince McMahon ROUND 2....

Thoughts...

How bout that BIG #2 promotion the WWA? They really fought McMahon back in 2002.

Face it, right now no promotion can match WWE, even if the guy can buy everyone. Right now, the only people he can get are Indy workers that casual fans have no clue about, or people in their rocking chair like Randy Savage & Kevin Nash.

Unless Turner is going to pile up on all the washed up has beens like Hall / Nash / Hogan / Savage / Piper, there's really not that much free talent out there to make up a roster for another American promotion. Just about everyone worth a damn is under the control of Vince Mcmahon, or TNA, or is a free agent making a killing by being booked in Japan.

I like TNA, but their roster doesn't scream real competition to McMahon.

Ted Turner won't get anything going unless he can get Austin/Goldberg and Austin/Hogan.

All that Means he can do is create a couple DREAM CARD ppvs involving the senior circuit and lesser known indys.

He won't even have a network outlet, he doesn't control TNT and TBS anymore.

Ted Turner didn't create WCW. He Brought WCW and let Eric Bischoff run it. Right now, Turner is just a money mark.

However, he does have the best chance of making a good profit off a Austin/Hogan marketed PPV.

I could see him nabbing Sting, Hogan, Goldberg, Nash, Hall, Austin, Page, Savage (if he doesn't get hogan), Piper...

That's a decent line up of big names for a one night only deal but you can't run a company with that. Buying TNA is the best he can do and I can't see that happening or least Jarrett letting him because he knows that will bring in the senior curcuit and it'll end his dream.

Turner was never a wrestling promotor, the Billionare just wanted a wrestling fed like a money making toy. He'd leave the decisions up to former NWA run off management and how many people were in charge of the WCW from 90 to 96? a little under a half dozen?

This would only be a good competition if he get a Wrestling promotor to take care of it, and then leave all the decisions to him.

Problem is the Turner channels at least from what I understood always seem to cater to the older generation, so you probably just see more of the older wrestlers again in lead positions over any younger wrestlers.
