Guest Anglesault Report post Posted July 14, 2004 I'm half convinced the NL isn't trying.
Guest Staravenger Report post Posted July 14, 2004 Glavine? Pfft! Clemens had to start because he's the best....in Houston.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2004 If they had just fucking started Glavine like he SHOULD have been, they might have been in better shape. Glavine isn't even in the top four of NL starters. Clemens, Johnson, Sheets, and Schmidt are all better.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted July 14, 2004 Great, Nathan(no offense) was the NL's last hope. They will get KROD and Mo' now. Or Gordon and Rivera. Or K-Rod and Gordon. Or Gordon and K-Rod. You're fucked.
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2004 Figures I'd spend most of Abreu's at bat staring at Eric Gagne. Fuck Fox. To their credit, they did have the shot on Abreu swinging and whiffing three times. With only two innings left and the likes of K-Rod and Rivera in the pen, this one's over. Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 14, 2004 When does Mr. Homer Graves play? I want to see a 18-4 final here.
Guest Staravenger Report post Posted July 14, 2004 Rivera isn't perfect, and considering he's up against a lineup of all-stars, the win isn't completely in the bag.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2004 You know, take out that horrible first inning, and this would be a good game.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2004 Well lets see what Tejada can do..
Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted July 14, 2004 Yes, between the Japanese players, Dominicans, and Canadians there would be enough for a world team. Whoops, I forget about the Cubans, DR's, and Japanese players...but that would pretty much be Central America & Japan instead of the World. America is the #1 country for hockey, which is why the NA vs. World gimmick worked...kinda. I never really enjoyed it much. Well with the idea you're proposing it would be the U.S. vs The World. That means you would have U.S. born players against Japanese, Canadians, Dominicans, Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, Cubans, and pretty soon Koreans(Hee Soip Choi). It could be done and would still have the All Stars.
Guest Staravenger Report post Posted July 14, 2004 You know, take out that horrible first inning, and this would be a good game. I just NOW realized that the gap was open completely when THREE of Clemens team members from last year lit him up...well, Giami reached on an Error, Jeter got a hit, and Soriano homered. REDEMPTION! Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 14, 2004 So...who else is in the pen for AL? Rivera, Gordon and KROD? I'll go with KROD for the 8th and Torre letting his man 'mo get the last one.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 14, 2004 I was wrong. It's Gordon.

EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2004 Fuck. What's the point of wasting time changing relievers with a five run lead?
Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 14, 2004 One toss for Gordon? Wow. He waited 16 years for one pitch.
Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted July 14, 2004 Anglesault, I'm awaiting an answer from my PM 1 batter? 1 batter?! That's terrible.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted July 14, 2004 It's really kind of sad. The NL has to see all three. I'm weeping for you.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 14, 2004 Fuck. What's the point of wasting time changing relievers with a five run lead? I guess to give his guy a apperence in the big game.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2004 But if they somehow tie the game, then what? I can't wait to see them crying to Selig again that they ran out out pitchers.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 14, 2004 I will laugh if the NL somehow comes back and because of Torre's fuckup AGAIN...he has to use his closer for long extra innings unless there are other pitchers i dont know about being there.
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2004 I'm torn here, because on the one hand, I wanted the NL to win and for this to be a good game. On the other, I don't like Clemens at all, so I was glad to see him get shelled so quickly, especially in front of the home crowd. Say what you want, I don't think Clemens was truly deserving of the start. I figured I'd be watching the game all the way through this year, but the relitively short periods of time where the game was actually competitive weren't enough to save it. Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 14, 2004 ahhh so basically Gordon begged to pitch one guy.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 14, 2004 A good and just god would have the Nationals come back in the 9th and tie it up just to fuck with The Yankees destiny by making Rivera pitch more. If Torre is smart, he keeps Rivera down for the 9th just in case the bats wake up.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2004 At least I have the AAA All-Star game to watch tomorrow. Calvin Pickering is playing, and I have to wonder what he's still doing in AAA. .332 batting average, with 28 home runs. Red Barons have four players in the game.
