Paul Stanley 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2004 My friends WinXP pro is screwing up, she went to restart...it boots up, and goes to the blue WinXP screen and stays there, she tries rebooting in safe mode, nothing...VGA mode, Last known good configuration, it all goes to that screen. Any help?
slimm44 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2004 I had a similar problem with this back in December. I installed Norton Antivirus when I already had McAffee on it as well. It slowed my computer down and also froze at the Windows XP welcome screen. If your friend has the screensaver on, let it sit for a while. Then move your mouse or whatever to get rid of the screensaver. If that doesn't work, I have no other advice
Guest T®ITEC Report post Posted July 21, 2004 I don't have any advice but a question that's.. pretty much like this. I unistalled some old software, added a new user account, aaand now it won't load at all. I see a flash of the "blue screen of doom" after the loading screen, and it automatically restarts. Uh, did I really break XP?
