Nikita Koloff

From the Inside Flap

Who’s your most dangerous opponent in the quest for success? You. But don’t worry, former World Heavyweight Wrestling Champion Nikita Koloff is in your corner. He’s here to coach you, hold-by-hold, through the toughest match of your life, and to make sure that you come out on top.

You don’t have to be a wrestler to succeed, but you do have to wrestle--with your self-discipline and desires, with your passions and attitude, with your beliefs and spirituality. Nikita shows you how.

This book is not about professional wrestling--it’s way better than that! Sure, there are plenty of behind-the-scenes stories from the wild, surreal world of pro wrestling, but Nikita shows you how you can learn from these stories and examples and use them to build your own success.

He shows you how to:

Set goals that you can achieve

Develop mental toughness

Use your emotional sensitivity the right way

Take smart risks

Make your success a predetermined outcome

And a whole lot more

In case you’re not willing to take just his word for it, Nikita presents the personal stories of other high achievers to help you attain your ultimate success, no matter how you define it. He shares the ring with his good friend Jeffrey Gitomer, who gives you thebenefit of the insights and principles that have made him one of the world’s top salesmen.

Make no mistake, your life is a championship match, and you are both the challenger and the challenged. But here’s the cool part: If you work hard, follow the step-by-step lessons you’ll learn in Wrestling with Success, and keep your eyes on the prize--you’ll win!

Book Description

Nikita Koloff grew up in the welfare projects of Minneapolis, the poor child of a single parent. He dreamed of becoming a professional football player, but a twist of fate brought him to wrestling when he badly broke his leg playing the game he loved. While rehabilitating at Jesse Ventura’s gym, he earned his shot at wrestling glory—as a star with the National Wrestling Alliance. The rest is history. Koloff became one of the country’s most famous wrestlers, eventually retiring in 1992 as the World Heavyweight Champion.

After his wrestling career ended, Koloff took the lessons he learned in the ring and applied them to the other aspects of his life—achieving new successes as a youth minister, a professional speaker, and a successful entrepreneur. Wrestling with Success distills the life lessons Koloff learned while overcoming challenge after challenge to find the success he dreamed of as a child. These lessons serve as inspiration and motivation for anyone who wants to reach their goals, and shows the importance of hard work, faith, mental toughness, and a willingness to take risks. He shows readers how to prepare themselves for any challenge—in sports, in business, or in their personal lives—and succeed spectacularly. Packed with insight for anyone who wants to achieve more, Wrestling with Success also includes a Foreword by Jesse Ventura.

Nikita Koloff (Spring Hill, TN) is a retired former World Heavyweight Champion of wrestling and motivational speaker who delivers hundreds of professional addresses to companies and individuals annually. Jeffrey H. Gitomer (Charlotte, NC) is a leading authority on sales and customer service whose clients include IBM, AT&T, Coca-Cola, and Hilton Hotels, among others. He is also the author of the syndicated weekly newspaper column "Sales Moves," and of the best-selling book The Sales Bible (0-471-45629-2).

Hart´s book should be very good. He is about the only guy in the world who doesn´t want to work with McMahon anymore and won´t hold it back

Race's book looks better than Harts. Then again, I'd rather read about Race.

I pre-ordered Harley Race's book. The man was God in his peak (which was like 30 years). I've read and listened to countless interviews and Harley Race is a real down-to-eath, classy guy. I can't wait to read about his times with Dory Funk Jr., Jack Brisco (I also bought Brisco's book, excellent), Terry Funk, Dusty Rhodes, Ric Flair, Larry Hennig, etc.

Do we have any idea when Bret's first book might come out?

I'm fairly certain Jimmy Hart is one of those guys who never has a bad thing to say about anyone, as he just kisses ass a considerable amount of the time.

Could be an interesting read for funny stories, but there's no way he'll be trashing anyone, as Harley Race's book has the potential to do.
