That could actually be the match to put TNA on the map. We'll never see it, and definitely not with the right build, so it's all hypothetical anyway. But yes, Lynn as Rocky, JJ as Appollo Creed could be huge.

And luckily, I never had any credibilty. Remember, I'm the gay-porn guy.

I really don't know if Lynn would be able to play "Rocky" in your storyline. He never was a identifiable babyface, and even when he was he isn't the greatest guy at getting the crowd sympathy(Actually Shawn Michaels is a genius at this) and thus it wouldn't be an issue of the crowd is rooting for the underdog/babyface, it would be more of a "We hate Jarrett and we want him to lose to anyone" thing. So basically, this wouldn't be the greatest way for them to go about that.

You're right, for now. Like I said though, it would take a long build, and it would have to be a perfect build. So, it won't happen.

*Announcers Voice* Well, ladies and gentlemen that was quite an interesting first round. We've seen strong points made by both of our master debaters here in the TNA folder. What will round two bring? Stay tuned.

Here's my question: How many TNA matches have reached 4*+ anyhow, and which ones where they?

First X Match (the four way) was ****. Cage Match was ****1/2. The entire Lynn/AJ two out of three fall series was ****1/4. I'm sure there are others I'm missing. But those were off the top of my head.

OK, here comes a comment that is sure to catch hell:

I honestly think (given proper storyline build, promotion, emotional investment, etc.) that Lynn and JJ could put on a ***** classic. There, I said it, and I'm serious. I really do.

We all thought HHH was done, until Shawn returned a couple of years ago. With the proper build and motivation, they put on a great match.

Um, the only way Lynn v JJ could hit 5 stars is if they had two better workers replacing them.

AMW vs. XXX - Cage Match - **** - 6/25/2003

Chris Sabin vs. Juventud Guerrera - ****1/4- Super X Cup finals

I don't think that I would count any other matches but those Swiggy....

Honorable mention

Teddy Hart vs. Juventud Guerrera - ***3/4 - Super X Cup

Who was in the cage match for XXX, and was the **** because of them or because of AMW.

Also, it's sad that not a single Heavyweight match gets a ****

It was Daniels and Skipper, and it was both. It really clicked with everyone. And upon farther thought, I'd give the first Raven/JJ match four stars, even with the screwy finish.

Now, if Raven can take JJ to 4*, it's not preposterous to think Lynn could go further.

What about the Deadly Draw match? I'd put somewhere between ***1/2 and ****. If not for the interference, and Russo ruining Truth's big moment, I probably would have given it the full ****. I believe Keller did go **** for it though. But anyway, the gimmick itself was nice twist on a four way we'd seen before, and thus, it made it look fresh. There worked some nice spots in there (the 3 man sleeper for instance) and I popped for EVERY nearfall after JJ's interference. That's my favorite World Title match in TNA's entire existence, with a close second going to Truth/Jarrett I, from November 2002, but I would have only put that one at ***1/2.

WOW, four stars??? LFV that is overrating the match...plain and simple. With and ending like that match had......there is simple no way. Don't lower your standards just because the company isn't putting on satisfactory matches enough.......

Well, it's just going by my memory of what I felt when I watched it. And I wasn't a writer yet, and I have hardened my standards, so you may be right about me over rating it. But as of now (untill I watch it again) I stand by my rating.

I thought the Double Elimination X Division Title match from week 2 between AJ, Lynn, Low-Ki, and Psychosis as well as the non ladder three way between Low-Ki, Lynn, and AJ were both in the **** 1/4 to **** 1/2 range.

After some thought, the only TNA match I would give **** is AMW vs. XXX . The rest listed are a little high on spots, and short on psych for my tastes. Doesn't mean they weren't awfully enjoyable, just not what I'd call classic.

That's their main problem. They haven't had a classic match in the entire history of the company.....and it's not because the guys can't have one. They have a potential classic lying in the wings if they do ever decide to have the talked about fued between AJ/Daniels though.....that would be boss.

True. Just a question - Has Daniels slipped over the last year?

Not a bit. His injuries have hurt somethings that he has done. I went to a live indy event(IWC - International Wrestling Cartel...check them out if you ever get a chance) here in Pittsburgh and AJ/Daniels fought on the card. I've seen it since on tape and I would give it the same rating I gave it that night.......****1/2.......it went for nearly 31:00 as a guy near me timed the match.......great stuff......

Good to hear. I haven't seen a lot of him lately, andthe little I've seen has been TNA. He's been known as the king of the indies for the past 5 or 6 years, and deservedly so, but I really think AJ has caught him now.

Honestly, I would have to agree that AJ has caught up to him as well. AJ hasn't had as many injuries and obviously is younger than Daniels. I would give Daniels the international edge right now as I have heard really good things about the American Dragon/Curry Man(Daniels Japanese gimmick if you are not familiar) tag team in New Japan Pro Wrestling.

Yeah, I've always thought the Curry-man gimmick was hilarious, though I've only seen clips of it on the internet.
