Guest Lucha Hogan Posted April 27, 2002 Report Posted April 27, 2002 I was wondering if the Hulkster is there some other wrestler ?
Guest Choken One Posted April 27, 2002 Report Posted April 27, 2002 Hogan is the second oldest. Vince is the oldest.
Guest DEEP THOUGHT Posted April 27, 2002 Report Posted April 27, 2002 Actually I believe that Backlund was 45 year old when he won the title from Bret at Survivor Series 1994. Gorilla and Vince mentioned it several times during the match adding that George Foreman won some boxing title at the same age just recently.
Guest Posted April 27, 2002 Report Posted April 27, 2002 Off-topic, kinda. But don't you find it funny that Vince used to (or still does?) have this vendetta against old wrestlers, yet he's the oldest one in his promotion. Older than Flair. Older than Hogan. I find it sadly ironic. I think the only guy he's hired in recent history that was older than him was Terry Funk.
Guest Cataclysm911 Posted April 28, 2002 Report Posted April 28, 2002 And, according to Stranglemania, Terry Funk is 167 years old.
Guest alfdogg Posted April 28, 2002 Report Posted April 28, 2002 I think Vince is 56 now, which would have made him 54 when he beat HHH. Hogan is 48. Backlund was 44. (They said 45 on the PPV, but in an old PWI almanac I think it said he was born in 1950, which means that obviously he couldn't have been 45 at the '94 Survivor Series.) Bret was 40 when he won his last one.
Guest alfdogg Posted April 28, 2002 Report Posted April 28, 2002 Sheik was 44, Flair was 43, Andre was 41, too. PWI almanac helps with this stuff.
Guest Nevermortal Posted April 28, 2002 Report Posted April 28, 2002 He sorta did...remember the Evil Hebner ref switch thing? He got it then, but then vacated (if my memory is correct).
Guest alfdogg Posted April 28, 2002 Report Posted April 28, 2002 He was still credited with a title reign, though.
