Questions about Raw comments/the Hardy Book

Recommended Posts

This post can be yanked as soon as I get some information...I didn't watch Raw so if anybody can summerize Lawlers comments about Ric Flairs book or point me in the right direction for a recap I would appreciate it...and I wanted to know if anybody has the Hardy's book and what it was that was so controversial about what they said(in detail please..I'm a demanding jerk I know but I want to know if it's worth picking up). Thanks!

There was something controversial in the Hardyz book? I must have missed it. An interesting read, but hardly anything controversial...except Itallian Stallion would get them booked on WWF TV doing squashes and take over half their pay as a "booking fee".

The "contreversy" regarding the Hardyz book IIRC was them talking about how they were always bumping their asses off on the road at house shows while the top stars did nothing.

Then again, I haven't read the actual book, I just remember reading something about it.

Lawler pretty much pulled the two parts where Flair rags on Foley and Hart. Called Foley a glorified stuntman, and said (with a hint of delight in his voice I may add) that he doesnt consider Hart one of the all time greats.

Just a side note....I've got half way through the Flair book, and its pretty much just ok....nothing really exciting. Interesting to see where he came from and all that. It's pretty much not bad but not great either. There are so many positive things they can do to promote this book. But the one thing that disheartens me is that they have to take the negative route to sell copies. As I was watching Lawler do this all I am thinking is why do they feel to focus on the bullshit in the book. Then I realize it.....

......we are dealing with the WWE.

Which leads me to the Hardy part of your question. In both The Hardy Boyz book, and Have a Nice Day there are certain parts that speak unfavorably on the WWE. Jeff talks about the angle where Lita and Jeff were supose to hook up. Foley of course talks about shitty booking and how Vince DID in fact screw Bret.

Now here in lies my personal probelem with Flairs book. This man is considered one of the greatest ever....period. He is also one of the only remnants of WCW/NWA days. Prior to the buyout only spent a very limited time in the WWE/F. You would think that the man has at least something, no matter how small, to say about the WWE. You also think a man of this caliber would be very vocal about it...I mean for Christ sakes its The NATURE BOY after all.

So what does he do.......

He gives Vince a literary blow job.

If WCW were still around....this book would be alot different

Then again thats just my opinion

I remember there was a part where Jeff told off Stephanie McMahon when Steph wanted to do an angle where Lita and Jeff got together. Also, they complained how they were squashed in their program with Austin/HHH in April/May 2001. And just general stuff, like Curry said, where they realized they were taking these big bumps and getting nothing in return while guys like Bull Buchanan and the Godfather (who they specifically mention) got big pushes and went over them.

I think The mentioned in there book how he kinda wanted to keep control of them for the first so many years... kinda like using them for his own reasons.

I remember in the one part in there book there first house show was in Youngstown, Oh ( I remember this part because thats where I live) and he told Matt and Jeff to go to the show, and told them not to talk to anyone, and get out. I'm not really sure if they ment the "boys" in the back or just everyone in general (youngstown is a....well....unique city)

Just the way they potrayed him in general made him look very demanding and controling in general.

They also say right out that the Acolytes didn't want to sell for them when they were building up for their first tag reign, and how Bradshaw wanted them to do things to become one of the Taker's "boys"

I think they also both allude to Bubba Ray not being the easiest guy to work/get along with.

That's not exactly a secret. It's been well documented that Bubba Ray isn't the nicest guy, backstage or with fans. D'Von is the exact opposite I heard.

According to most of what I read D-Von and Kane are the nicest people backstage. Bubba is a bit of a prick...and hey so is Bradshaw(I know...shocking)
