From the 11-23-92 Wrestling Observer Newsletter: Weeks earlier, it was reported that Steve Austin was against forming a regular tag team with a heel Brian Pillman. WCW took interest in signing international star Chris Benoit to team with Pillman. However, Benoit was not happy with the terms of the contract offered by Bill Watts, so he refused to sign with the company.
