The Mandarin 0 Report post Posted August 13, 2004 Picked it up recently after hearing nothing but good reviews, and since I know a bit about the real Henry Hill from watching a Biography episode about him. Plus, it doesn't hurt that Goodfellas is probably my favourite film. Anybody else interested in the book/movie? Thoughts?
BrokenTiger 0 Report post Posted August 13, 2004 I loved Goodfellas...very much. Especially Pesci (eg. when he punks out Liotta in the bar)...he just overshadows both De Niro and Liotta. Anyways, how's the book? Any significant difference between the movie and the book?
teke184 0 Report post Posted August 13, 2004 The main differences that I remember between the book and the film are that a lot more of the scams and robberies are covered in detail, including the Lufthansa heist and the fallout that was seen during the "Leila" instrumental. Oh, there was also the whole Boston College basketball point-shaving scandal that Henry and Jimmy were involved with... They had three or four of the team's best players in their pocket but still couldn't make it work well.
