Despite the fact this tournament has been marred by the PGA of America coddling the players by starting out the week shortening the course and setting easy pin positions we do actually have an exciting finish.

Justin Leonard bogeyed the 18th to set up a 3-way 3 hole minimum playoff between Leonard, Chris DiMarco & Vijay Singh. On the 1st playoff hole Vijay has pulled Driver and unravelled a monster 330 yard drive up the narrow fairway to be 36 short of the green. He's had a nightmare day with the blade though so he's going to need to sort that out if he's to come away with the Winnemaker. I hope he can come through but I think Justin's been hitting it better all week.

Vijay is up by one through one hole of the playoff.

On another board I picked Ernie and Phil this week (yeah I know, I really went out on a limb with that prediction), and both were pretty close to getting into the playoff. I would have loved to have seen one of them in there.

Well Vijay may just punish me for doubting him. As a result of that massive drive he's sunk his first birdie for the entire day to take a 1 shot lead over DiMarco & Leonard after the 1st hole of the playoff.

Interestingly, Leonard's spot in the Ryder Cup team may hinge on the result of this playoff. Apparently Justin needs to take out the Championship to push his way past Chris Riley to automatically make the team. Mind you, it would be very surprising for Hal Sutton not to use one of his Captain's picks to bring him into the team.

WOAH!! Vijay has just hit a spectacular draw 4ft from the pin at the par 3 17th, while Chris & Justin have missed the green. Shut the gate, your Player of the Year will be bringing home the silverware today.

Oh damn, it really hasn't been Vijay's day on the dance floor. He jagged that birdie putt so it's still just the one stroke lead coming into the 18th again. The 18th has been bogey central for all of the leaders today so this one is still alive.

Well Vijay didn't get a hold of his 3 wood off the 18th tee and left himself a massive shot into a heavily protected green while DiMarco took driver all the way to the end of the fairway and Leonard's about 30 yards short of him. I don't think this one will be decided here.

Vijay hit the center of the green and so he's definitely not going to lose it here, but it's possible he doesn't win it.

Leonard hit a poor shot and needs a big putt to stay in.

DiMarco is in a bunker with a poor stance.

Looks like Singh is going to win it here.

DiMarco had no shot and bladed it past, Justin's gone for a high chip (?!) and set it about 3-4ft away. Vijay's got a very similar 2 putt to what he had on the 18th earlier for the Championship....

AWESOME long putt, nearly drained it from way out. He's chosen to finish off.

Vijay Wins!!!!

Vijay Singh's rise is an even more impressive story than Tiger Woods. Singh coming from Fiji has not only the most famous Fijian, but maybe the only famous Fijian to the world's best golfer.
