Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted August 16, 2004 The fans got bored 45 minutes into the show. I thought the crowd actually made the show enjoyable. They may have been distracting but the Wave was the funniest moment of the night. They did the Wave during Wm6 Dibasi vs Roberts So must be something they do often when they are bored. Jesse actually put it over on the air "Its coming back to us Gorilla here we go...."
Guest Fook Report post Posted August 16, 2004 You mean the announcers actually played up what the crowd was into and tried to sell it as fun rather than insulting their own fans and calling them disrespectful? What alternate universe did this happen in?
Guest Loss Report post Posted August 16, 2004 The different between WCW and the WWF in 1998 was obvious in one tiny way. I remember a beach ball being thrown around in the crowd at Nitro and the ball being confiscated and the crowd booing. One was being bounced around the crowd at RAW and it came into the ring and Austin kicked it back out into the audience to a huge pop. The lesson? Work with the fans, not against them. There's also the reported incident last year at a house show. A fight broke out in the stands during a Jericho match, so he grabbed the mic and told the audience he was having a match and to pay attention to him, damnit! They laughed and got right back into the match.
Guest Leon Report post Posted August 16, 2004 According to Meltzer's Monday update at Wrestlingobserver.com, WWE believes Toronto's reactions were caused by this new, slow style. Hopefully, they'll change it.
Guest JoeyStyles Report post Posted August 16, 2004 The thing is the crowd didn't do this for the Heat match and the hot opener, I think the crowd wasn't into having non-deserving midcard wrestlers in the main event spots.
