Guest Salacious Crumb Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 Anyone else caught Adult Swims latest creation. I was extremely surprised by how funny it's turned out to be. I love that someone finally thought of doing a parody of Johnny Quest. Brock Samson and the Monarch have been the funniest characters so far. I'm surprised by how Adult Swim can take seemingly the worst concepts and still turn out funny shows.
razazteca Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 Did Hooper & Ace get cancelled or was it a one shot deal? Venture Brothers is a funny show especially since Brock Samson looks just like Psycho Sid!
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 Yeah I was wondering about the other show. I was a little annoyed that it was in Birdman's slot so I wasn't too sad to see it go. It could've just been a pilot so they could see if they wanted to make a longer series.
razazteca Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 Well it did take Venture Brothers awhile to get the series going after its pilot about the ninja.
Golgo 13 Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 That one off Hooper episode was the pilot. It should be back in a few months. It's the same thing they did with Venture Bros.
razazteca Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 I'm loving the new Adult Swin line up with Megas XLS, Venture Bros., Harvey Birdman, Sealab/ATHF/Brak. When is the Squidbillys pilot going to show?
AndrewTS Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 I really like the Venture Brothers--I was anticipating it since the first commercials, and so far it delivers. That, JLU, Megas--great TV. The Hooper & whatever pilot did well according to AS, so probably we'll see more eps.
Guest JMA Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 I'm loving the new Adult Swin line up with Megas XLS, Venture Bros., Harvey Birdman, Sealab/ATHF/Brak. Actually, "Megas XLR" is on Toonami. It's also a great show. Saturday nights on CN rule, period.
Guest El Satanico Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 It's probably only a matter of time until Megas XLR moves to AS. As soon as CN notices that it attracts the AS ages. Of course, I suppose that's also a good reason to not move it.
Guest JMA Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 It's probably only a matter of time until Megas XLR moves to AS. As soon as CN notices that it attracts the AS ages. I'm not sure if Cartoon Network would remove it from Toonami. Like you said, it's very popular.
razazteca Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 I wish Cartoon Network would remove Futurama from the Sunday Lineup and replace it with a show that is not on every night of the week. Move either Home Movies or Space Ghost into that slot! Megas rerun comes on right before Adult Swim but I consider it part of the block because it has the same kind of feel as the regular Adult Swim shows.
Guest El Satanico Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 Futurama and Family Guy both need breaks from the Sunday line ups.
