LatinAssasin 0 Report post Posted August 17, 2004 Well, it's not that the .avi won't play, it's just that when i do play them, I get a scambled black and white image. I can still hear it, but no image. I tried downloading Divx or something like that, but it didn't work. I've tried updating my windows media player, but that didn't work either. Is there anything else I could do, or should I just accept that my computer sucks and start erasing my .avi files?

LatinAssasin 0 Report post Posted August 19, 2004 Yeah, I tried updating my codec stuff and all, but still no go. I guess it's time to give up hope on my avi's and start clearing space for trust old mpegs.
Krankor 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2004 I have this same problem right now. When I play .avi files all i hear is the sound from the file but no video. It's like Windows Media player treats it like it's a sound file. I've even tried playing it in different media players and still the same results. My OS is Windows 98... Anyone know how to help us? Kapoutman 0 Report post Posted August 20, 2004 All right everybody. Updating codecs isn't everything. You need to update ALL codecs. Go to free-codecs.com, and download their mega-pack that includes all codecs. Once you do that, if it still doesn't work, go to microsoft.com and search their knowledge base.
