Guest fanofcoils Posted August 21, 2004 Report Posted August 21, 2004 For a Flair and Michaels vs Bret Hart and Savage match JR and Heenan were the commentaters. Mr. Perfect is still with Flair. Does anyone know the date of this match? And does anyone know the date when JR first joined the WWF?

It was almost a year later when the match was released commercially. Jim Ross made his announcing debut with the company at Wrestlemania IX after Eric Bischoff fired him from WCW for being too Southern.

cawthon777 Posted August 21, 2004 Report Posted August 21, 2004 JR and Heenan also re-did commentary for the Disasters / Money Inc match on the same tape, which also took place in July 92. Why this was done is beyond me. I notice they did take some subtle jabs at Typhoon in the match. Keep in mind that the video came out right after Typhoon's infamous debut in WCW as the Shockmaster; I think the commentary reflected that. I believe Heenan said something to the effect of, "No, he never trips. He's a very agile man." This was said with a great deal of sarcasm.

Mega Maniacs/Beverlies trying to do comedy and serious match in 7:00 span. HBK/Duggan....when HBK couldn't carry crap. Midgets! The only really good thing was the tag team match.

I remember watching the lumberjack match live on TV and, even though I didn't like Duggan too much and I HATED Shawn, it was obvious that the match had heat if nothing else. I thought it was pretty decent.

We got something extra instead (IIRC interview with Steiner Brothers or something?) Its annoying because after the 1st Michaels/Duggan match, Savage says we have the lumberjack match later! Very lazy editing...
spman Posted August 22, 2004 Report Posted August 22, 2004 I remember in 1993, WWF released like four differnet Coliseum Video tapes in a row that all had unique Bret Hart / Shawn Michaels vs Kamala matches on them that are all brutally bad. I don't think 1996 Shawn or 1995 Bret could have carried Kamala to anything watchable.
