Guest MikeSC Posted August 24, 2004 Report Posted August 24, 2004 What are the death counts from those Vietnamese, Cambodians, and Laotians killed through the Vietnam War, and the subsequent backing of Pol Pot? Pol Pot killed 25% of the ENTIRE population of Cambodia. The N. Vietnamese killed UNTOLD millions upon millions of S. Vietnamese. The numbers aren't even in the same state, much less the same ballpark. -=Mike
Guest Brian Posted August 24, 2004 Report Posted August 24, 2004 And the N. Vietnamese weren't exactly buddies with Pol Pot. Just because they're communist, doesn't put them in the same boat.

Guest MikeSC Posted August 24, 2004 Report Posted August 24, 2004 BTW, to put it back on topic, Rood actually contradicts Kerry. If Kerry received his silver star while serving with Rood --- then why does Underwater Demolition Team Thirteen not appear on Kerry's citation (we know they were there because they WERE on Rood's broze star citation --- and they occurred at the same time, right?) Even when defending Kerry, he raises questions. In fact, it completely goes along with "Unfit For Command", where the authors stated that Kerry simply ignored the soldiers and advisors who captured the main weapons and Viet Cong (mind you, Kerry, by all accounts, wrote his own report). Roy Hoffman, his commanding officer, was told by Kerry that he (John) basically did it single-handedly. Even worse for Kerry, Rood won't take questions about this. -=Mike
