Monitor problems

Recommended Posts

My friend has been having major problems with his monitor on his PC. He had a PC loaded with Windows 98 on it. I am not sure if that has something to do with it. Well, after having used the same monitor for a while, it just decided to not work anymore. The monitor turns on, but no image is displayed. Ok, so he replaces the monitor, and then it works. That monitor worked for like 2 months, and the same thing happened. Another monitor comes in, the same thing happens within the week. What could be the problem? My guess: Probably something is wrong with the video card.....

Also, another question, since I don't want 2 threads for 2 different questions.

I have 2 separate hard drives in my PC, with both having at least 9GB. I am probably gonna reformat soon. I still haven't used the 9GB in the hard drive that has XP Pro installed. Would I be able to move all my important data to the second hard drive, and then wipe the 2 partitions in the other hard drive without losing data? I don't feel like burning all my data onto CDs.
