Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2004 The CHV version The Collection version The Legacy version Any specific differences of all the tapes compared to each other? I only have the CHV versions and I was just wondering about the other two sets since I was thinking about obtaining the Collection set.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2004 I have the Legacy version...and it sucks. It would be a great set if it weren't for all of the tapes being on EP speed. There's a noticable drop in quality from that set to the individual Coliseum Home Video Wrestlemania tapes.
MillenniumMan831 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2004 I have The Collection (1-13). Likewise, they are also in EP. IIRC, WMI runs about 2:30-2:40ish. WMs 2/III run about 3:05 each. WMs IV-VII run approx 3:30-3:40. Then, the other WMs are pretty much the same as the Coliseum Versions except for the fact that they are EP. They run about 2:45 each . . . like any other ppv. As you can tell quite a bit have been cut in WMs I-VII by Coliseum.
Guest Staravenger Report post Posted August 28, 2004 I have the WM IV Legacy set one, and quite a lot of promos are clipped. WM V has the entire Pipers Pit segment clipped out for same reason but most (if not all) matches are unclipped while CV did a serious hack job on shit. DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2004 Basically, CHV Mania's run 3 hours in SP. The WWE Home Video "Collection" series (1-13) run anywhere from 2:20 (WM1, I think) to 3:55 (WM V) without match clipping. The sacrafice to having 13 tapes in one box not cost $40 per tape is that, as mentioned, they are in SLP (or EP, depending how your VCR classifies it) and the quality suffers. For trivial purposes, I had the times of WM 1-10 written down, but that paper is long gone. Once you get to 8, it stays under 3 hours and is the same as the CHV tape. Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted August 31, 2004 I have the Legacy Set and Piper's Pit is there at WM V. What gets cut are the CHV exclusive interviews (such as Steamboat at WM IV) and there is a brief cut in Money Inc/Mega Maniacs from IX. Other than that, the entire shows are there. They are still in EP however.
Jericholic82 0 Report post Posted September 2, 2004 I have the legacy (1-14) set i think that in 99 there was a new legacy set that included 15. yea I was dumb and actually paid the 149 buck srp for the set back in jan 00. I was sad to see there were in ep, and they were kinda bad as I had a mon non 4 head vcr tv combo at the time. they play better on my new 4 head hifi stereo vcr, although the tracking sometimes gives me a prob but they sound better. there are indeed not the coliseum versions, they must have been made from the masters. on wm 4 they clipped out some promos obviuosly as it only runs around 3:45 I think (the only thing i can think of being cuts are the prom where heenan receives a package and also robin leech opening the tourney-they cut directly from jesse/gorilla to hacksaw entering the ring on wm 5 the only notable cut is the no holds barred promo wm 6 cuts out the demolition post match interview wm7 cut out the demo interview as well as their japanese opponents interview but nothing much else I don't belive (and in the CHV of this they briefly clipped the savage/warrior match i believe) on wm 13 they clip out the wm 13 logo begin-they cut directly from the end of the opening video to the fireworks in the arena-guess they didnt want to advertise the sponsor for that event playstation without compensation lol also cut out sunny and brian pillman shilling the hotline as well the NOD rappers (pg13) in the ring cuz on the live ppv a graphic displaying the site of wm 14 is shown (with a different logo than the one that is used) so they cut directly from them entering the ring to lod/ahmed entering and the wm 14 on this set, sadly cut out the opening video(luckily I have a tape taped off the ppv broadcast), but they added the post show press conference with tyson/austin that was on the orignal wwf home video of the show this is all I can think of right now I guess even though they suck in quality, itll probably be the best we get, as any future dvd release would definately have to edit out all wwf references and scratch logos as well as some themes oh yea on my legacy wm1 they dont edit JYD, wendi richter,us express, or hogans themes oddly enough (thankfully I guess)
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted September 2, 2004 And with the Legacy set. It lists the Nacho Man/Hogan/Ted deal with the booklet, but it's not on the tape anywhere. I got the set for my 18th birthday years ago
Guest Askewniverse Report post Posted September 2, 2004 I have "The Collection." For some reason, it contains the "Encore Plus" version of WrestleMania XI. That may not be a big deal to some people, but I wasn't too happy about it.

Guest Staravenger Report post Posted September 3, 2004 Well thats strange...I have the Legacy tape, and it actually has it advertised on the back I think. But when I watched it, the segment was removed. Maybe I have a defective tape or something.
Guest Stunt Granny Report post Posted September 3, 2004 Wrestlemania 12 is hacked to bits, the booklet also has The Godwins vs. The Bodydonnas for the tag team championships, but its not on tape.
Guest Staravenger Report post Posted September 3, 2004 That was a Free For All Match. It wasn't on the PPV broadcast, so the fuck up was putting it in the booklet. Dittto the Geriatric Match.

DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted September 4, 2004 ^ What's the Encore Plus? Instead of saying "LIVE" under the WMXI logo, it says "Encore Plus". Roddy Piper also hosts it and pops in at points in the tape to say something.
