Guest Incandenza Posted July 28, 2002 Report Posted July 28, 2002 I just finished listening to the Hives' Veni Vidi Vicious for the first time. Though it's only 28 minutes long, my attention was waning after 15. Not a good sign. I find myself thinking the exact same thing with a lot of the "garage rock" stuff. Even White Blood Cells doesn't do much for me once it gets past "The Union Forever". For the moment, though, my musical tunage is equal parts: Freddie King Black Label Society Godspeed You Black Emperor Secret Machines Jerry Cantrell I'm quite fond of the White Stripes--they display more variety than the Hives, who appear to have only three songs which they recorded over and over again and called it an album. Boring.
Guest Doomsault Posted July 28, 2002 Report Posted July 28, 2002 What's that smell? It Smells Like Teen Spirit muddafucka!
Guest The Superstar Posted July 29, 2002 Report Posted July 29, 2002 Avril Lavigne- "Let Go" Hey, Avril owns you all. She is my Queen.
Guest Doomsault Posted July 29, 2002 Report Posted July 29, 2002 Dr. Dre-The Next Episode, one of the few tolerable rap songs.
Guest thefrenchargel Posted July 29, 2002 Report Posted July 29, 2002 Acid Bath-Scream of the Butterfly. Feel like listening to a slow song for whatever reason.
Guest evenflowDDT Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 Sporty Thievz - "No Pigeons (remix)" Remember this song? I loved it simply because I hated "No Scrubs" so much... this remix isn't so much a remix as a continuation of the song, with a different beat and more misogyny I just wished my damn record player didn't suck so much and stopped skipping...
Guest Moses The Monkey Posted July 30, 2002 Report Posted July 30, 2002 Listening to the radio right now.. "Lithium", Nirvana

Guest treble charged Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 Treble Charger - "Brand New Low" Not bad, TC, not bad at all... The word is spreading...
Guest Kinetic Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 I've been listening to that Fiona Apple album a lot lately, just in an effort to see if my opinion in the review was dead-on. It pretty much was. And I'm thinking of throwing in PJ Harvey's Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea...just to see if I still think it's boring.
Guest Kinetic Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 Beck - "Dirty Dirty" Goofy little Beck Midnite Vultures outtake/b-side. Anyone heard any of his new material yet? They're streaming it at beck.com I think. Personally, I like "Dirty Dirty" better than half of the stuff on Midnite Vultures and the Cornelius remix of "Mixed Bizness" waaaaay more than the original. That album never ceases to disappoint me. Beck's new stuff sounds good, though. I'd buy his next album anyway, but given the quality of the material I've heard thus far I'll buy it with...uh...gusto.
Guest Kinetic Posted August 1, 2002 Report Posted August 1, 2002 Now listening to previously mentioned PJ Harvey album. I'm still not feeling it. Thom Yorke rules, though.
