Joni Mitchell, A Case of You

"You're in my blood like holy wine

You taste so bitter and so sweet

Oh, I could drink a case of you, darling, and I would still be on my feet

Oh, I would still be on my feet

I am a lonely painter, I live in a box of paints

I'm frightened by the Devil, and I'm drawn to those ones that ain't afraid

I remember that time you told me, you said

"Love is touching souls,"

Surely you touched mine, 'cause part of you pours out of me in these lines from time to time..."

That piece was originally used in the 1973 Terrence Malick film, Badlands. It centered on a couple on the run from the law.

Yeah, Christian Slater mentions that in his commentary track. I wonder if it's the exact same piece, or if it's a homage to the one from Badlands. I'm pretty curious to see that movie now.

Spoon-Kill the Moonlight

This is probably their poppiest album to date. I'm definitely feeling it more than Girls Can Tell but decidedly less than the awesome A Series of Sneaks. Still, it's damn good and has certainly helped getting over the disappointment of that boring-ass new Beck album.

Reagan SS

(I have no idea what songs or anything, but my housemate is playing the 7" he just picked up in the living room, and our stereo system in the living room is LOUD... we frequently get complaints about it, particularly when we play music late at night, heh)
