Guest Incandenza Posted December 27, 2002 Report Posted December 27, 2002 Just finished listening to Dylan's Highway 61 Revisited for the first time. I'm thinking it's better than Blonde on Blonde.
Guest Kinetic Posted December 27, 2002 Report Posted December 27, 2002 What's that you say, Inc? My eyes must be deceiving me. I thought Blonde on Blonde was the only bright spot in an otherwise horrible, horrible career. My whole belief system has been turned upside down.
Guest Incandenza Posted December 27, 2002 Report Posted December 27, 2002 I find myself in a quandry, too. Your reply is obviously sarcastic, as was my "horrible, horrible career" line. I don't know what to do. Maybe we should pretend none of this ever happened.

Guest Incandenza Posted December 28, 2002 Report Posted December 28, 2002 What is there to gloat about? What I said in Site Feedback was sarcasm. Any other negative comment I made about Dylan was based on only hearing two of his albums, and I'm changing my tune on him.

Guest Kinetic Posted December 28, 2002 Report Posted December 28, 2002 What is there to gloat about? What is there to gloat about? You said you didn't like Dylan and I said you were mistaken. Now we've come to find out that I was indeed correct and you were woefully incorrect. This is the greatest thing that's ever happened!

Guest Incandenza Posted December 29, 2002 Report Posted December 29, 2002 "Shots & Ladders"--Low Good stuff, that.
Guest Kinetic Posted December 29, 2002 Report Posted December 29, 2002 I've listened to Neko Case's Blacklisted about eight times now and would say it's a really solid album with no standout tracks. The closest it comes is with the fucking amazing vocal performance on "Running Out Of Fools." 7/10
Guest Incandenza Posted December 29, 2002 Report Posted December 29, 2002 I've listened to Neko Case's Blacklisted about eight times now and would say it's a really solid album with no standout tracks. The closest it comes is with the fucking amazing vocal performance on "Running Out Of Fools." 7/10 I had the chorus to that going through my head when I woke up this morning. The way she wails the song's title gives me a woody. Am I the only one? As for standout tracks, I do believe there are two: The one you just mentioned and "Deep Red Bells." However, as much as I like the album, I believe she definitely has it in her to make a better one (if she hasn't already).
Guest Kinetic Posted December 29, 2002 Report Posted December 29, 2002 I read that "Runnin' Out Of Fools" is an Aretha Franklin cover, which puts it in the upper echelon of covers, as far as I'm concerned. But, yeah, I'd tend to agree with you about her having a better album in her. I'm told that she makes a fantastic contribution to the New Pornographers' album, so I intend on picking that up at some point.
