Here what i watched in the last coupla days.. I have a backlog of stuff to watch thats just insane. I will post more stuff as and when. I hope someone enjoys, or gets something outta this. Its not all Puro this time as one match is old skool ECW. I'll try and focus on obscure japanese indies and newer Puro Stuff.

SWS Great Kabuki & Tenryu vs Jeff Jarrett & Bob Orton Jnr [10-18-90]

 

This match is from the SWS (Straight and Strong) packed arena and a rabid crowd. It says its a tournament match in the pre match vs picture thingy. Kabuki enters and sprays the poison mist into the air twice to the crowds delight. We then are JIP with BOJnr in control of Kabuki. He hits picks up Kabuki for a gorilla press and drops him into a back breaker which looked nasty he then hits a Vaderbomb which he overshoots but compensates by driving his forearm into the back of Kabuki.

 

Some nice left hand jabs rock Kabuki but he manages to block a backbody drop with a vicious uppercut and get the FLAMING HOT tag to Tenryu, who comes in HOF! nailing BOJnr with some custom chops and a left arm lariat. Bodyslam followed up by his backward jumping elbow of the top for a NF.

 

Then follows a backdrop Flair-esque in its uglyness, BOJnr lands on his hip and hard. Jarrett is tagged in and no-sells a Tenryu chop and gets into an akward exchange with Tenryu which ends with Jarrett eating a solid shoulder block. BOJnr hits a cheapshot from the outside on Tenryu which prevents him following up, its not like Jarrett is selling as he flys at Tenryu whipping him into the ropes and hitting a DAMN SWEEET dropkick right to the mush of Tenryu...Tenryus DOWN !! Jarrett then hits that really old skool 'look im on your head' flying headscissors...Tenryu returns the no-sell, hits a backbreaker and a holding Powerbomb for the 3.

 

Verdict : It was cool seeing Tenryu in there with Jarrett. I woulda liked to see the full version as this was clipped to 4.24.

 

ECW Stan Hansen & Tito Santana vs Magnificent Muraco & Shane Douglas

 

This match is from ECW but has Japanese commentary dubbed over the English What the fuk ?

Hansen and Douglas lock up and Hansen nails Douglas with numerous elbows, in the corner, mid-ring, off the ropes...when he runs outta variations he tags in Santana. Douglas in his white pants is hurt and stalling and doing all the normal shit that annoys me.

 

More elbows from Hansen this time on Muraco but Douglas breaks it up and drag Santana in the corner and they place face in peril on Santana..Muraco takes over with a Trapeizious/Nerve Hold on the shoulder on Santana....they do all the normal stuff..cheap shots while the ref aint looking and baiting the tag etc..Hansen even runs in annoyed but is kicked out by the ref allowing Santana to recieve more punishment from Muraco who is looking flabtacular tonight.

 

Santana reverses a Douglas suplex to get his hope spot and gets the tag first time and in comes Hansen HOF ! Hansen whips in Muraco and the top rope breaks !! a melee ensues with the Dark Patriot, Snuka and Eddie Gilbert..who tries to throw a fireball at Hansen but nails the Patriot instead. The ring clears and Hansen and Santana celebrate.

 

Verdict : Well below par old skool ECW brawl with some big stars in it. The finish screamed Paul.E which was cool but the rope break fucked things up good and proper.

 

HUSTLE-4 Psycho the Death (Psycho Simpson) & Giant Silva vs Toshiaki Kawada & Hiro Yokoi

 

We open with Hustle-Bison talking some madness from his perch. It must be funny as the crowd are pissing their pants. Then we but to Ogawa cussing down Kawada who is in the crowd and looks mad as HELL. He then gets on the mic, says a something then goes 3, 2, 1 Hustle HUSTLE HUSTLE while doing Pelvic thrusts...im serious. We then cut to Kawada in the back, hes chilling and some japanese wrestler (dunno who) comes up to him with a box and kinda tells Kawada that he thinks that Pelvic thing he did was cool and that the picture of him on the poster is cool..hes met with a standing high KICK! to the face..thats the Kawada i know !!

 

Giant and PTD enter first, Silva is a freak of a man and is holding the worlds biggest baseball bat and PTD elects to slide to the ring like he is 2 yr old baby who cant walk. Bob Marley EXEDOUS~~~~~ hits the speakers and i OFFICIALLY mark-out for Yokoi. We hear nunchuku and yes its the theme from Enter the Dragon ~~~~~~ and Kawada is not only dressed in the yellow Bruce Lee tracksuit, hes wearing one SWEET Motorbike Jacket...it looks like a Dyanese i cant tell but Kawada looks ~~~~~~~~

 

**** for the entrances alone.

 

Yokoi and PTD enter and a go behind ends with a vampire bite from PTD. Yokoi then takes him down and takes him to school on the mat ending with a sleeper on top...PTD simply bites the hand to break...Yokoi to will have the thirst for blood by sundown. PTD hits one weird ass leg-with-leg-drag that looks cool. In comes in Giant-oh and cos hes huge anything he does is amazing to the japanese so he hits forearms and an elbow to a great OHHHHH.

 

Yokoi trys a back suplex and remembers whos hes in there with and tags out to KUH-WAH-DAH LEE. He enters and i'm taken back to the scene in Game of Death when Bruce Lee is fighting Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as we have Kawada clad in Yellow and Silva is one huge man like Jabbar.

 

That fun flashback soon ends when the suck starts.

Kawada nails some low kicks but is pushed away soon after and is on the wrong end of some forearms to the back. This already has started to suck BTW. Kawada ends the crap by sending Silva to the outside with a high kick.

 

PTD enters tries to go forearm for forearm with Kawada only after trying to hit Kawada with a soft toy doll. Kawada cleans his clock and gently picks up the toy doll and places it on the apron away from harm...AHHH compassion.. (Barf)

PTD and Yokoi exchange which ends in Yokio drapped over the top rope and PTD hitting a legdrop off the top...he throws Yokoi out and lifts up the mat and preceeds to suplex Yokoi on the hard floor BAH GOD!.

 

More biting ensues and i'm wondering wheres Kawada as hes tagged in and goes to town on PTD with elbows, high kicks, and a brutal trademark high kick in the corner. PTD cant strike for shit and looks lost in this match but he hits an ugly neckbreaker on Kawada after fighting outta a powerbomb attempt..Kawada gets the advantage again attempting a brainbuster but Silva comes in and allows PTD to hit a double arm suplex on Kawada.

 

Silva is in now and hits Kawada with a stiff Chokeslam prompting Yokoi to jump in...Silva tries for the double chokeslam but is kicked down by both Yokoi and Kawada ending in a stiff axe kick to the back of Silva's head from Kawada.

PTD gets a 2 count from a un-Arn like spinebuster and is soon reaching for the rope after a fujiwara arm bar from Yokoi. After a jumping elbow and a german suplex release PTD is down so in comes Silva again which prompts Kawada try a german on the giant man, no dice as PTD rolls up Yokoi for the 3.

 

Verdict : Clusterfuck...with all the fun moments coming before the bell.

WAR 15.07.1992 Ultimo Dragon vs LaFiera

 

La Fiera is looking like a dirty mexican heel complete with greasy hair, sunglasses and ugly tights. He jumps Dragon before the bell and assaults him with a chain. He chokes out Dragon for what seems like an enternity. Ref cant do shit as the bell aint rung and La Fiera does not look like hes gonna stop..the crowd pops when the 5ft ref manages to get the chain off LaFiera.

 

Dragon is down and hurt and the bell has rung...LaFiera steps on Dragons calfs, leans backs and grabs a chinlock while his knees are in Dragons back..NICE !! he adds some crossfaces and i now need to see some more of this dood as he hits a stiff kick to the chest while holding Dragons head ala LowKi. Million $ Man fistdrop follows and Dragons down...bear in mind Dragon aint had one offensive move this match so far. He changes that by flipping outta a back body drop and hitting a moonsault kick right into the head of LaFiera. Dragon gets him outside and hits a mad crossbody off the top to the floor...man he was agile pre-injury. Dragon busts out about the 3rd rolling back kick of the night to the gut and hits a sweet series, turn-around crossbody off the top, this totally lucha armdrag where he jumps all the way around LaFiera before grabbing the arm and the the trademark handspring elbow..

 

The sleazy one is out and Dragon tries a pescado but eats mat and pays even more by getting a Martinete [Tombstone] on the wooden floor...if this was Mexico this match would be over..but it aint so Dragon gets up in 4 seconds, adjusts tights and BAM!! eats one SICK no hands headfirst tope right in the face...LaFiera means business !!

 

Dragon gets no time to rest as hes picked up and slammed/thrown 5 feet into a sea of open chairs...is this BJPW ?? whatever it is..that was a nice bump...un-needed but nice none the less. Dragons bourght in and eats another Martinete. LaFiera hits a frog splash for a nice NF. Dragon hits an impeccably well sold rana [by Fiera] for a 2 and follows LaFiera out with the ASAI moonsault...he overshoots a bit, makes contact with the head and goes flying into the chairs again. Ouch.

 

Amazing LaFiera is recovered and gets back on the offense once they are back in the ring with that same submission he used early in the match. He lets up and Dragon reverses a whip into a Tidal Crush...yes LowKi's one.. then he grabs LaFiera and hits the German Suplex and rolls through to the Japanese Leg Clutch for the 3.

 

Verdict : Man this had some fun moments and was very different from your average Ultimo match from his WAR days. The finish seemed a bit outta no where but it was still good and i enjoyed this one. About 12 Mins.

 

NOAH 01.08.2004 Jun Akiyama vs Akitoshi Saito [GHC Hardcore Openweight Title]

 

Former partners go at it here and it looks serious as the lock up tight. The bulky Saito pushes Akiyama back and nails a stiff middle kick while coming off the break. They then go mental and start elbows each other in the middle of the ring...34 elbows later [!] Saito nails a sick backdrop driver..not Doc sick..but nasty non the less and Akiyama rolls out but meets a charging Saito with a kick and then hits hit running 'JUMPING KNEE' on the outside. Saito sells like he has respect for Akiyama...almost too much as hes just hanging there for ages off the apron allowing Akiyama to hit a knee of the top rope to Saitos neck.

 

This prompts the japanese 20 count hope spot as Saito comes in just on 20. They get angry and trade lariats in the ring, niether man backing down..after 3 lariats Saito hits jumping knee outta nowhere, Akiyama avoids the Sickle of Death [Delayed Enzugiri] and locks on the front necklock with bodyscissors...they just are neglecting building up to anything here, just big moves.

 

Akiyama hits a regular Exploder for a one count...Saitos mad..he hits Akiyama in the gut and gets the Sickle for 2 count. They fuck up a spot but it ends with another Exploder for Saito who has cool tat on his upper back. Big jumping knee in the corner by Akiyama is repayed with a heel kick from Saito and they start trading lariats again but this time Akiyama gets the running knee to a kneeling Saito this time..twice...Nasty way to return the favour from before and Saito cant make the count and looses by a KO?

 

Verdict : I guess they wanna keep Saito strong for when/if he becomes top tier but this could have been great even with that planned finish...i mean no Death Brand tease or nothing and this was for the fuckin belt !! I kinda expect more from NOAH on these 1 on 1 matches as they have so many tags usaully. About 7 Mins [!]
