It was part one of a 4 parter and the boys followed Splinter to an alternate universe where he was taking part in an open to all universes fighting contest. I saw it because I heard Usagi Yojimbo was gonna be in it, but alas it's just a small cameo so far. Maybe he'll show up again as the story progresses.
