Bored 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2004 National t.v. schedule for this week. FSN's regional coverage is sporadic so I'm not sure if you'll actually have a game to see in both of their regional time slots. I believe most of the country will get TCU/Texas Tech but it might only be local markets for the other games. Those games and ABC regional games are marked with an asterisk. West coast will get the late game (UCLA/Washington) and the rest of country will get the early game (Nebraska/Pittsburgh). Despite one good game being postponed (Cal/Southern Miss) and one other in jeopardy (LSU/Auburn) this is definently the best week of games to this point of the season. FRIDAY Connecticut at Boston College, 8:00/5:00 PM, ESPN2 SATURDAY Nebraska at Pittsburgh, Noon/9:00 AM, ABC* San Diego State at #17 Michigan, Noon/9:00 AM, ESPN #21 Maryland at #7 West Virginia, Noon/9:00 AM, ESPN2 TCU at Texas Tech, 12:30 PM/9:30 AM, FSN* Northern Illinois at Iowa State, 12:30 PM/9:30 AM, FSN* #5 LSU at #14 Auburn, 3:30/12:30 PM, CBS #9 Ohio State at N.C. State, 3:30/12:30 PM, ABC* Oregon at #2 Oklahoma, 3:30/12:30 PM, ABC* #20 Wisconsin at Arizona, 4:00/1:00 PM, FSN UAB at #8 Florida State, 6:30/3:30 PM, ESPN2 UCLA at Washington, 7:00/4:00 PM, ABC* Notre Dame at Michigan State, 7:00/4:00 PM, ESPN Clemson at Texas A&M, 7:00/4:00 PM, TBS #11 Florida at #13 Tennessee, 8:00/5:00 PM, CBS #1 USC at BYU, 10:00/7:00 PM, ESPN #22 Minnesota at Colorado State, 10:00/7:00 PM, ESPN2 #16 Iowa at Arizona State, 10:00/7:00 PM, FSN* Idaho at Washington State, 10:00/7:00 PM, FSN*
Guest GreatOne Report post Posted September 17, 2004 The Idaho/WSU game will be roughly 8000% better on TV from last year with Brian Davis doing the game as opposed to fucking Rick Rizzs (HOLY SMOKE! A SIMPLE LINEDRIVE TO THE SHORTSTOP, A THREE-YARD RUN HOLY SMOKE WHATTA PLAY!!!!!!!!).
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2004 Shit, I didn't even realize that Idaho/WSU was a night game. That's tight. That means I can watch the good games, and get good and fucking drunk before I walk my ass over to Martin Stadium. And to be honest, I'm kinda surprised it's televised too. I know FSN picks up a lot of Wazzu games, but it's fucking Idaho. This is like the consensus worst team in the country here.
Bored 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2004 Again like I mentioned I can't quite figure out FSN's regional coverage. Out here on Fox Sports Bay Area neither late game is being shown even though there is no A's or Giants game being shown in that time slot. I would have liked to see the Iowa/Arizona State game but I'm thinking that game and the Idaho/Wazzu game are limited to local markets only.
Crimson Platypus 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2004 Anyone think my Spartans have a chance in hell against the Irish Saturday night? Also, a friend offered me 14 points for $50. I figured what the hell..
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2004 MSU certainly has a shot at beating ND, but really it all depends on which one of these schitzos show up. U of L's game with Tulane was cancelled due to the hurricane, so that squash will happen another day. It's kinda funny around my area (Louisville) that a rivalry game between two local teams like UK and IU isn't even being shown until an 11:30 delay. Dare I say Indiana looks like they'll come out of the weekend 3-0 and the surprise team in the Big 10? What crack induced world do we live in?
Crimson Platypus 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2004 You can say it, but the bottom line is once Indiana hits the Bi1g 10 schedule they will get trounced regularly: Michigan State - L Michigan - L at Northwestern - W at Ohio State - L Minnesota - L at Illinois - W Penn State - L at Purdue -L So assuming 3-0 pre-Bi1g 10, ending up 5-6 imo. Der Kommissar 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2004 Michigan State - L I disagree. I think they can beat a team that couldn't even beat Rutgers.
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2004 For the Tennessee fan, this week is the entire season.
Bored 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2004 West Virginia/Maryland kicks off in a few minutes. Mountaineers would take a huge step towards a possible 11-0 regular season with a win.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted September 18, 2004 Terps have won the last 4 meetings.. Wow. Just as I type this, Pitt busts out the quick kick.
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2004 I've got to say, Michigan's looking pretty vulnerable right now. First, they had the ND loss, and now they're letting San Diego State hang in there. They could actually get knocked off by a team like Indiana this year. I think the Wolverines are gonna have their worst year in a while and end the season like 8-4. Oh, and this West Virginia/Maryland game's looking pretty sloppy. Even if the Mountaineers win here, there's no way that they beat Virginia Tech.
teke184 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2004 Oh, and this West Virginia/Maryland game's looking pretty sloppy. Even if the Mountaineers win here, there's no way that they beat Virginia Tech. The same Virginia Tech that's having trouble with Duke right now?
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted September 18, 2004 Nebraska's playing a hell of a ballgame right now. The Defense is forcing Pitt to make mistakes and capitalizing. Pitt made a great defensive stand at the goalline, and couldn't do the same. It's a 17 point ballgame because of that.
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2004 Va. Tech's up 24-7 at the half. I think they'll be all right. As for WVU, I really do like watching Kay-Jay Harris. He's a pretty legitimate Heisman candidate. Oh, and Georgia's got to be the most overrated team in the country. Their first game, they're down at the half to a I-AA team, then they damn near lose to South Carolina, and now they're struggling with Marshall. How does anyone think this is a top-3 ballclub? Slayer 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2004 After getting tired of watching the Red Sox get raped by the Yankees, I turn over to the Michigan game only to see SDSU giving the Wolverines a tough game And SDSU picks off Michigan...
Bored 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2004 After being down 21-0, Texas Tech has scored 42 unanswered points to go up 42-21 on TCU. Game is only midway through the 3rd quarter. Maryland blocks the potential game winning field goal. Looks like overtime.

Georgia was SUPPOSED to be a Top 3 ball team because they went 11-1 in 2002 and like 10-3 in 2003. The problem is that they've been stricken with injuries and suspensions and, as a result, haven't jelled yet. If they don't jell by the time they face LSU, they're screwed. Slayer 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2004 The "big fish in a small pond" that is West Virginia missed potential game-winning FG, but Maryland got flagged and WV got another (closer) attempt and had the second attempt blocked

Bored 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2004 After an incredible 4th and 12 conversion, Auburn scores on 3rd and 12 to tie the game 9-9 but the extra point is missed! Personal foul LSU! Retry...10-9 Auburn. Unreal. LSU of course missed an extra point in the 1st quarter.
teke184 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2004 OK, did ANYONE see that personal foul that gave Auburn the second PAT attempt? I didn't see it on the replay.
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2004 I can't see the fucking kicks today. That first extra point looked like it was through to me, and the second one looked like it missed. Oh, and what the fuck was the personal foul? I didn't see shit on that.

Damaramu 0 Report post Posted September 19, 2004 OU struggles against Oregon... hmmm... definitely don't see a National Championship apperance for the Sooners. There wasn't much struggling at all actually......Oregon played them tough. But never at any time did it not look like OU was going to lose or come close to losing.
