I think the triumvirate of Curry-Czech-Rudo, or LOTCRRR, would do a fine job with Raw.

 

I think Nik was as shocked and appalled as I was that you dared to forget giving me credit.

Czech, just so you know, Nik came to me and I hated that it had to be done. But it did. We had asked that the Sensible Randy Orton stuff stop and you had been asked to do it several times. You kept doing it anyway. That's the only reason you were banned from the folder. I was really disappointed, and believe it or not, Nik was too, because we both like having you around in the folder. But when you're asked to stop doing something and do it anyway, you make it really hard to justify allowing you to continue posting in there, and if we had just ignored it, it would have sent a really bad message. I hate that it came to what it did, but you didn't really leave Nik a choice.

The answer to that is twofold:

 

1. People making jokes in the folder is fine, but when people actually are trying to discuss the topic at hand and others are chiming in trying to put themselves over, it is a detriment to the folder. I'm all for humor in the WWE folder, actually, but don't do it in a thread where people are trying to talk about something else.

 

2. The point is that they were asked to stop and continued doing it anyway. I actually *started a thread* for that sort of thing, something that goes ignored most of the time, and I think it worked out just fine. If anyone is asked to stop doing anything in the folder and they don't stop doing it, what are the mods supposed to do?

 

I agree that there are a lot of mediocre posters who just slip below the radar while the more vocal posters, regardless of how worthwhile they are, are the ones that end up under scrutiny more. There's actually a thread being tossed around in Staff Only right now about killing the OAO threads and locking the WWE folder during RAW. We're aware that it's a problem.

Here's the thing: The majority (see, All) "jokes" that we do are from the stupid things people (be in wrestlers or posters) say. Generally (I think this is true in most of the cases) these threads already suck before we can even "ruin" them. I don't think you will find that happening in between any good discussions. In the case inwhich Czech was suspended, it was in a RAW thread. Certainly not ruining anything there.

 

I would love to hear the definition for "put themselves over", because I could say that really long post you made about the heel/face situatoin was trying to put yourself over. This is us having fun. It is a creative outlet. I don't wake up every morning with the intent of "getting over", and I don't think Czech does either, or NY Untouchable. I don't log on the board with the intent of doing something silly. It just happens.

Anyone else find the concept of "putting oneself over" in a wrestling folder ironic, if not very funny?

 

I do understand that it's not a total blackhole of humor in there (otherwise I would be gone), but I think the things for which people are being booted for is rather asinine

Putting yourself over is making a point not to contribute to a discussion, but to draw attention to how great you are. That wasn't my goal with that. That was a "look at the message" post, not a "look at the messenger" post.

 

I want everyone who posts in there to have fun and use the forum as a creative outlet. Problems start when it happens in topics that have nothing to do with the original point. There were a few people complaining, which is the only reason we stepped in.

 

The "sensible" thing wouldn't have even been that big of a deal had it stopped when we asked for it to be stopped. Again, if we make a request that goes ignored, we have to do something.
