The Twins winning the division is seen as a bigger accomplishment due to their underdog status. A small-market team that was almost contracted comes back to win 3 division titles in a row.

 

And if the Twins do win 13 divisions in a row and only manage 1 WS win, they'll get their own choker label, too. They've been lucky to have been overshadowed by the A's troubles in the ALDS, and since the A's have lost 4 straight times (including once to Minnesota), Oakland gets raked over the coals for choking over the Twins. That and the Moneyball bias.

The Twins vs TBA has already been set for Tue-Wed-Fri-Sat-Sun.

 

Santana, Radke, and Silva will go the first 3 games. Game 4 and 5 will depend on games 1-3. A series lead Muholland/Lohse will pitch and Santana would be fully rested for Game 5. If they trail in the series, than Santana goes on short rest, and if they get to Game 5 Radke goes on short rest.

Yeah but they did win ONE. You can rail on the Braves for all these teams that they were supposed to beat and they didn't but I don't know if they'd have won the Series that year.

 

Three or four teams realistically have a shot at winning the Series, but only one will. It goes back to my 'baseball fan' argument a few weeks back. I'm not sure I'm ready to call the three teams who didn't win 'failures'. I mean should we stop actually competing here and start booking everything?
