Bored Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 HUGE week in college football. There's simply no reason to leave the couch on Saturday. National television schedule this week. Damaramu Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 Dammit I hate it when there is 4 games that you want to watch on at once. If there's two I usually just hit "Last Channel" and flip back and forth. But they need like a way where you can program it to flip through those 4 channels with one button......a football remote.
phoenixrising Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 Or three PIP windows where you can keep track of up to four games at the same time, and being able to switch to either one with the press of a button. Or a White House Situation Room type TV with one huge screen surrounded by smaller screens, all showing football. I think I just created Heaven.
Edwin MacPhisto Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 I'm glad UVA's not playing this week. I don't have to go hold my spot in the stadium for an hour and a half on the best weekend of college football yet.

I don't have to go hold my spot in the stadium for an hour and a half on the best weekend of college football yet. I agree. I have OU season tickets but I went ahead and sold my OU/TT ticket so that I could watch football all day.
Art Sandusky Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 Goddamn, I loves me some SEC football. LSU/Georgia and Auburn/Tennessee ON THE SAME DAY! What other conference has such fucking huge games week in and week out?
Edwin MacPhisto Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 Hey, on Damaramu's point about getting season tickets: how does that work at bigger schools? Here at UVA, where the program is still on the rise, we have 12,000 undergrads. Students still get in free to every game. I know some of my friends at UF have to buy tickets, but how much do they go for?
Damaramu Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 At OU they're 120 bucks for season tickets for students and it's first come first serve as long as you aren't a Freshman. For incoming Freshman they put a certain number aside and they have a lottery and you enter your name in there and you can win season tickets. However you still have to pay 120 for them. You only get one ticket. You can sell the ticket for ANY price in the city of Norman if you so desire. Apparently scalping is not illegal. It's only illegal if you try to sell 2 tickets for above there value. But since students only get one ticket you can charge 50 bucks for them. Which I don't. My Texas Tech ticket cost 27 and I sold it to a girl for 25. My season tickets were paid for by my grant money. Hehehehe.....so I didn't pay anything for them. Where they really get you is on away games. It's 65 bucks to go to Kansas State. 65 to go to Texas A&M. And like 75 for OU/Texas Tickets.

That's why I like my Favourites button.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 At Ball State, you had to blow above a .10 before they'd let you into the stadium to cheer.
Damaramu Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 The thing that's annoying about OU games is that you have to be there 2 hours early. So when you have an 11:00 game you have to be there at 9:00. And since I don't live in Norman(i live 15 minutes up the highway) I have to get up at like 730 to get ready and beat traffic. So I get there and I'm tired as fuck and it's hot outside and then we SIT for 2 hours. Seriously they do NOTHING. Some jackass plays games on the microphone for about 15 minutes. But he's annoying and not funny so we just sit there. Then the opposing team will come out to stretch and everyone that's there boo's them...except me. They're stretching....big deal. Then the Sooners come out without shoulder pads to stretch and do drills. And everyone goes crazy like they're about to play. But WAIT! They're just stretching! We still go an hour and a fucking half till the game starts! God I hate it. Glad I don't go to LSU though. I read those poor kids have to be there at like 8.
Bored Posted September 30, 2004 Author Report Posted September 30, 2004 Tonight should a very entertaining Navy/Air Force game.
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted September 30, 2004 Report Posted September 30, 2004 Purdue/N.D. should be an interesting game. I think Kyle Orton will prove he's a Heisman candidate with his game. So far he's throw 13 TDs and no INTs which is insane considering his career best for TDs in a season is like 16 or something.
Bored Posted October 1, 2004 Author Report Posted October 1, 2004 Incredible 4th quarter in the Navy/Air Force game. Air Force tied it up 14-14 with about eight minutes to go, Navy answered back with a touchdown, Air Force came right back to tie it 21-21 with two minutes left, and now Navy marches down the field and can win the game on a short field goal. The Navy kicker is 0 for 4 this year. Field goal is good...Navy wins 24-21 and retains the Commander in Chief's trophy.
2GOLD Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 And UCONN earned their first ever Big East victory by knocking off Pittsburgh 29-17. Great game between Navy and Air Force and Navy now moves to 5-0 on the season. Amazing.
Damaramu Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 Did that kid from AF break his leg or tear something? Oh and btw. There's a kid at OU that used to go to AF. He was on The Rugby team at AF and his schedule pretty much matched the one they showed on TV. It sucks! You would have no life! I don't have the discipline to do it.

Guest GreatOne Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 Fightin' UConn's now what, 4-1? Wow, as Huck The Fuskies as I am if you'd told me three years ago that the two Huskies teams would be 4-1 and 0-3 I'd have probably gone UW with the former, yowza.

I say they go crazy like they're taking the field for the game when they're just stretching. Nobody is actually like "Hey the stadium is empty except for students but here comes the game!" Plus they come out from under the Sooners banner and out of the big football helmet when it's game time. Plus they play a big digital countdown and then show a video of OU beating on people while playing Andrew WK's "Party Hard" as they take the field.
Damaramu Posted October 1, 2004 Report Posted October 1, 2004 I just heard this great commercial on the local radio. OU/Texas ticket: 100 dollars Bar Tab in Dallas: 85 dollars Bail after a drunken fight with Texas fans: 500 dollars Listening to Mack Brown's excuses after a 5th straight loss to Oklahoma: Priceless.
Art Sandusky Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 That's next week, yo. This week's all about muthafuckin' LSU/Georgia and Auburn/Tennessee and Purdue/Notre Dame to a lesser extent. I'm SO FUCKING HYPE for tomorrow night. I need to find an AM station around here that's carrying the game, since I have to work but can listen to the radio in the car as I make deliveries. GO VOLS!

I'm SO FUCKING HYPE for tomorrow night. I need to find an AM station around here that's carrying the game, since I have to work but can listen to the radio in the car as I make deliveries. GO VOLS! This is one of the few times I'll scream "GO VOLS!"... If Tennessee and Georgia both beat Auburn, LSU has the opportunity to win out and go to the SEC Title Game for the 3rd time in 4 years.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 Auburn's going to run all over them again. Watch.
2GOLD Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 TOUCHDOWN HOGS! Florida 14 ArK 7 6:02 left in the half. Now if Arkansas could play some damn DEFENSE, they might have a chance.
2GOLD Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 And Florida answers right back. Arkansas has no defense today, none at all. Florida goes back up by two touchdowns, 21-7, with 4:44 left. ETA: Interception and about four plays later, touchdown Florida. Goodnight Arkansas. 28-7 and the half STILL isn't over. Oy.
Damaramu Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 I know I picked Georgia in the game. But I would like to see LSU win this game. Then I'd like to see The Vols win and then win the SEC. That'd be nice. Anyone else getting the OU/TT game? Looks like OU spent the week overlooking TT and thinking of Texas.
Damaramu Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 Oh my god.....our Wideouts are dropping balls like nothing else. Jason White has got to be pissed. He's giving the balls right to them and they're dropping them! I wouldn't care as much but it seems that if OU doesn't blow teams out by 50 points then everyone decries us as sucking.
Edwin MacPhisto Posted October 2, 2004 Report Posted October 2, 2004 I'm getting the game, but I'm also watching VT/WVU and Wake/NC State, which I'm finding more interesting. The latter is a surprise, and I'm not sure if the NC State offense can make up those 14 points the way they're playing. As for VT/WVU, even though I'm anti-Hokie, it's great to see the Mountaineers starting to get exposed. Get those pretenders out of the top 10.
Bored Posted October 2, 2004 Author Report Posted October 2, 2004 I actually thought the Arkansas/Florida game would be pretty good but the Gators are just slaughtering them right now. Virginia Tech up 13-0 on West Virginia at the half.
